Poles is probably still looking for ways to get rid of him or find excuses to bench him.

Poles I'd responsible for putting the guy in the right position. The same people who are praising Jenkins thought he sucked or was soft when Poles arrived. Criticize yourselves for being wrong.

Incorrect on multiple accounts:

1) Jenkins' best position may be tackle; Nagy et al were trying him out there to see if he could play the position, and he was doing fine before the Poles regime took over. As of today, he looks like he can play right or left tackle better than Wright or Jones.

2) Many here gained respect for Jenkins when he stood up for Fields to protest the late hits opposing defenses were administering to him.

This is the Fire Ryan Poles thread, not the fire random CFMB posters thread. Poles though his best position was on the bench.

it was weird how negative the press was for jenkins pre-season of his second year.... and then when he got on the field that seemed to quiet down based on his play

I think Poles first tried running him out of town. Hopefully it was a learning experience and Jenkins can stay healthy.

Poles said that wasn't true. He wanted him to be a professional and take care of his body. He's given up beer for the Bears. Thanks Poles!

Well he’s not going to say he benched him because he’s a terrible talent evaluator

This guy was the one who praised him for taking the personal foul to protect his qb, to the scoffs of this board

Yeah, I was all in on him too when he was the only guy who had fight in him. He's just made of tissue paper.

I thought that the offensive line did a good over-all job on Sunday in spite of the awful referee calls the entire game. Very one sided referee bias evident in that game. I think that the Saints only had one penalty called on them in the entire game in addition to really tickey tack shit leveled on the Bears.

This could've just as easily gone in the Fire Eberflus thread. Six of one, a half dozen of the other.....

I think they are a center and good health away from having a good OL

Center has to be a priority this offseason. THey should sign a veteran and use a pick in like round 3 or 4 on a center.

Connor Williams would be expensive, but would significantly upgrade your line, sign him and draft one of the top LT's and you have the makings of a good offensive line. You cannot draft a QB at #1 or #2 and not give him a veteran center that will help him out immensely by making the line calls. Can certainly argue that you severely limited your QB's chances the last two years by trotting out marginal NFL talent at center, not sure what Poles was thinking by going into the season with Whitehair as his starter, but we certainly saw the results.

You get what you pay for....they have to invest cap money somewhere and OL is the best place to do it.

The should be able to draft a competent center. They may need to buy half a defense.

It looks like Nate "Street Clothes" Davis will be inactive, AGAIN. We will be lucky if he plays 6 games this year. Poles should have gone after Ben Powers, a LG, who is better and more durable and would have allowed Jenkins to play his more natural "Right Guard" position.

I read recently that Sweat's contract pays him $1 million more per year than "Thieving Mack" was making with the Bears. Will he ever be as good as Mack was in 2018? Just asking a question.

Third-tier pass rushers gotta get paid!

They do if you trade a lot of draft capital for them in their contract year.

He was the best player on the defense last night. He was pretty fantastic in both coverage and run support.

Sweat's play means nothing to me. Four of us could give the Panthers offensive line problems.

I'm still disappointed we couldn't get the Panthers other #1. Maybe offer the 2025 2nd to get their 2025 1st.
