I'm not sure why chanting in a tunnel is relevant to the disruption of the TV postgame show?

Yep. Coming into the game and leaving it. It's a tradition once you reach that tunnel.

Jack Sanborn may be their best linebacker. The kid just makes plays.

Not sure if he's better than TJ "The Matador" Edwards, but he's certainly better than Thieving Edmunds.

Bagent doesn’t appear to be the answer, but Young is terrible. Carolina is screwed.

Edwards is 2nd in the NFL in tackles going into this week, ahead of Roquan Smith...of all the Bears problems, he ain't one

He's generally bad in coverage (made the play last night), but I haven't seen anything great from Edwards or Edmunds. Young lived in the short middle of the field yesterday.

Sanborn is a pretty good player. We'd consider it a good pick if he was chosen in the 3-4 rounds.

all balls, no brains. Run the ball and maybe you pick up the first down against the 28th ranked run D. If not, the clock rolls to under 40 seconds and you kick to no worse than the Panther 20. That gives Young 30 seconds and no time outs to drive 50 yards.

If that pass play doesn't work, and it really almost didn't, you give young 1:15 under the same scenario.

It wasn't a decision based in sound logic and he would have justifiably been ripped for it.

They didn't run the ball well yesterday. Johnson has taken a step back since his return and Foreman falls if you touch his shoe.

I've watched Eberflus be conservative for 2 years. I don't disagree with your point, but I was fine with a 2-7 coach doing something ballsy. He coached like his job was on the line.

yeah it is pretty amazing that an undrafted FA has a better game than the #1 overall pick.

Just shows again how hard evaluating QBs is

I thought he had flashes of brilliance against the Raiders and Saints. I thought that game plan asked for him to be boring last night.

I think Mongo was talking about Young, although I understand your confusion since Bagent sucks, too.

Eberflus is the prototypical Ricky Renteria or David Ross type coach, gets you from chaos to maybe basic competency, but coaches not to lose rather than to win.

The Panthers picking up a first down after facing a seemingly impossible 1st and 30 almost lost the game, and was a great example of the obvious flaws in the Eberflus version of Cover 2, no dominant 3 tech, so no immediate inside pressure, soft and deep drops by DB's and LB's opening up easy short throws that even a 5 foot nothing QB can complete with ease, he basically handed Young 8-15 yard completions on first and second down, a mind numbingly embarrassing defensive strategy which kept the Panthers alive.

They also obviously coached down Bagent after seeing his limited arm talent and told him not to attempt and late downfield throws, but you had a hard time telling the difference him and Young, which is not a good thing for the Panthers.

I'm not sure if Young sucks. I think he may have PTSD after this season though. They can't protect him and their #1 receiver would be a #3 on nearly every team in the NFL.

His arm didn't look quite as strong last night as I remembered it being in college. I think he'll end up being pretty good.

I agree. I don't think he sucks. He was doing that Aaron Rogers thing of throwing it away at the slightest hint of pressure.

I think we judge these young QB way too quickly.

 Yeah it made me laugh last night when they were talking about him being like 185. No fucking way.

On another note I read Bernsies article on that game. Pretty funny stuff and true.

Agreed…his arm looked even weaker than Bagent’s.

That team is trash. I thought they’d compete in that garbage division but they’re way, way worse than I’d realized.

Now to complain about Young…I thought his key selling point was elite accuracy. I saw a lot of overthrows last night with clean pockets against a mediocre defense.

Whitehair is the worst of that OL. Consistently a problem. He needs to go. Right side of the line is good generally and you could do worse at center but not much worse.
