Sweat is scheme proof, he will fit in with whatever defense the next HC runs, Poles has painted himself into a corner and will have to drastically overpay to buy defensive lineman. Tons of draft capital spend on DB's, but not much on the front seven, a costly mistake that he can only remedy by chasing and overpaying FA DT's and DE's.

If the picks are both top 5 it will present a rare opportunity to pick two Pro Bowl level offensive talents, but of course it all hinges on the QB decision.

A couple questions for you guys:

1) Are you starting to question Ryan Poles after seeing CJ Straud this season?

2) Is passing on CJ a fireable offense?

Texans backed into it. They would have taken Young first overall.

What if the same thing happens this year? What if we get the number one and number two pick and we get who everyone wants but we miss the superstar quarterback again.

Vegas odds say that is extremely likely to happen

Are you saying we will keep Justin Fields for 10 years, and finally trade him to a team that wins the Superbowl immediately as soon as he gets there?

Poles is slowly building up the talent level. Glimpses of improvement. He'll have to surmount the Bears QB curse which seems a pipe dream. Best thing about the Bears it's only once a week.

He’ll have two straight years of top draft picks and most cap room in the league. He better hurry that shit up.

Football isn’t baseball. You don’t need 5 years to turn it around.

It will be so much easier for this franchise to make great progress next year if Fields proves himself as being the franchise quarterback.

Franchise quarterbacks make players around them better. CJ Straud is clearly doing that this year. You don't hear Texans fans complaining that their offensive line sucks and they don't have enough weapons around him. If fields was truly a franchise quarterback we would see it with our eyes by now.

You do when you don’t have any idea what you’re doing. And Poles is a goof that has no idea what he’s doing.

The guy that hires the guy to pick the groceries is the problem, the only hope is that Warren will be able to George proof the HC/GM hiring process.

Isn't hoping that Warren can oversee football operations for the Bears just an updated version of counting on Ted Phillips to run the franchise?

Warren is a business executive; he doesn't know the first thing about football.

George is gonna need someone besides the vaunted search committee members in the room with him if he sits across the table from Harbaugh.

If George shows up at the airport to pick Jim Harbaugh up it would be comical because Harbaugh would likely tell him he already has a driver and that George can sit in the back seat to stay out of the way while he talks contract with Warren, but thinking Virginia will step in and tell Warren to hire Harbaugh in an effort to George proof the process.

Given George's previously stated aversion to "egocentric" coaches, I would be flabbergasted and flummoxed if the Bears reached out to Harbaugh. I'm not even sure Eberflus will be relieved of his duties as head coach at this point, given that the Bears appear pretty well positioned to win 2-3 more games this season.

Well if he can manage to string the next two games together he will then have the bye week to gather himself once again. I on the other hand will be happy if he can string more than two quarters together.

That may be a blessing in disguise in light of the apparently unanticipated maintenance expenses that have been required by the Vikings' stadium.

If Field's hand is healed, this is his job to win or lose. I think it needs to be laid out for him exactly like that. I said before that IF he has a good rest of the year, it will solve a lot of Bear's draft and free agent decisions and put the team in very good shape for next year. He doesn't need to be a super star, GOOD is good enough.

The idea that a 60 year old lawyer who has never made a football decision in his life is going to make a meaningful impact on the football team is laughably stupid and i would like to know how people thought this was plausible. Warren is here for the stadium move and nothing else. I am baffled as to how anyone thinks otherwise.
