Special Bob trying to go after one of the few fans here who repeatedly posts levelheaded and honest takes on his team.

They didn't, they were committed to him after the success the team had last year. I would have preferred it have been in the form of the franchise tag, but as a fan you don't always get what you want.

I voted for Daniel Jones before I voted against him

i've been pretty consistent on my takes on Daniel Jones. Ive never said he was anything other than "OK". I would have tagged him and made him prove himself another year. Did I foresee this? of course not, but I never carried a torch for him. He actually did them a BIG favor getting hurt. Now they can much more easily dump him after year two of his contract and minimize the financial burn and allow them to obviously draft QB.

I'll support you on this...you've been consistent. It's not like there were a whole lot of other optios, but as you said...tagging him would have made more sense. I didn't expect him or the team as a whole to be THIS bad.

Panthers drop to 1-10

Giants looks like they are out of it with a win over the Patriots, so it's down to Panthers(Bears), Cardinals and Patriots for #1 overall

The Patriots are a legitimate threat. I don't worry about the Cardinals. The Patriots have a division victory, so that hurts them.

Even if you believe that, Call of Duty has every reason to win. The Bears are also on their schedule. I would be surprised if the Panthers finished with anything worse than the 2nd pick.

Call of Duty goes to Pittsburgh, then has the 49ers at home, then at the Bears, then at Philly then home vs Seattle, you tell me when his next win is outside of Chicago.

I don't believe the Panthers will win 3 more games. The Chicago win is all that's needed to secure, at worst, the 2nd pick for the Panthers. The Steelers and Seahawks games could be wins for the Cardinals.

Everybody down here in NC who follows the Panthers are losing their minds because their owner may actually be worse than the McCaskey family.

1. He insisted on trading up for the #1 pick instead of just trying to trade up to the Arizona or Seattle pick, because
2. He insisted on drafting Bryce Young as opposed to taking whatever was available from Young, Stroud, Richardson, Levis, and
3. He is blaming the new coaching staff for how awful the offense is with this generation's Tim Couch and no decent wide receivers or running backs.

Meanwhile, everybody assumes that Frank Reich didn't want Young and said so at draft time, so now the owner is going to fire this entire coaching staff after one year.

The Bears themselves aren’t out of it.

Bears have two #1s in the first round. Carolina has none.

They don't have a pick. They have a position in the draft in which the Bears will pick

You realize that this is colloquially referred to as the "Carolina pick", right?

I realize that your central contribution here has been to make a distinction without a difference.

Maybe this should also be the "Justin Fields Value Thread", let's see is dead coach walking is able to lose games while making Fields look at least competent for the rest of the season so we can get a good return for Fields.

It would seem Fields would have value, seems he would be an upgrade from a few of the guys that started Sunday, would love to recoup a second round pick for him.

If you think that's the case, you must not have understood the point of Hawg's original post.

Just to make this clear:
The Carolina Panthers play in Carolina, though it's not clear which Carolina they play in.
The Chicago Bears play in Chicago, thought it's not clear how much longer they will play in Chicago.

We are rooting for both teams to get the #1 pick this year because we aren't idiots who are rooting for their team to go 7-10, miss the playoffs, and give their below average starting quarterback $50 million a year.

If you think that's the case, you must not have understood the point of Hawg's original post.

Isn't cheering for the #1 pick one year and cheering for the #1 pick the next year kinda in the same neighborhood? You chose to nitpick, and by doing so, also managed to be dead wrong. It's Chicago's pick, Carolina's position, and now you have to go get your shinebox.
