Remember hearing the WSCR hosts make fun of the Lions coach while praising the "smart fans coach" Nagy, really is amazing how far the stations Bears and NFL coverage has been allowed to decline over the past few years.

remember when they had at least a little college football coverage and packed saturday with the topic?

I'll have to check the numbers, but I seem to recall Lions/Goff doing this previous seasons with Goff at QB. An October/November swoon and then Goff playing his-best-not-the-best down the stretch; but usually it doesn't matter cuz Lions aren't historically in it at all. This year it matters.

Felt right watching Lions lose on Thanksgiving while enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with the family. Tom Terrific was selected in the 6th round. I'm not wasting a top 5 pick on an old quarterback.

He would essentially only be able to sign one extension.

If he's good, he'll play 10+ years. Even if he's Kirk Cousins, he'll play 10+ years.

Somewhere else. He’d be good as a Texans’ backup or something like that.

The Lions are not good, but on Jan. 8th, 2024, I think the odds of them being the winners of the NFC North are pretty good. Even if they don't, they will not finish in last place. That is still very much locked up by the Bears.

stacked WR group coming out this year

I love Bowers and I think he is a once in a decade talent but I've thought highly of some pretty mediocre TE drafted in the first round. It's a tough position to learn and stay healthy

It's rare that you see a sure thing like Harrison Jr at any position. I hate to pass on a talent like that. I forget the letter that is used, but I believe Bowers will solely be asked to catch the ball. Also, the Bears don't have a 2nd round pick for a receiver and Fields didn't improve our chances of getting one.

Harrison Jr. and Moore would interesting together, but you have to find a QB that can pull the trigger when they flash NFL open and that is not and never will be Fields.

Maye and Williams both will pull the trigger quicker and more accurately than Fields on downfield throws and give their guy a chance to make the play, Fields has to see that they are wide open and he will rarely throw anything to the seam, or deep in cuts, Bagent completed one of those and the broadcast guy marveled at how the Bears offense never even attempts those type plays.

Fields sucks. He played his best last night. It was obvious he tried it really hard. And he sucked. He's done.

Without trading future draft capital, it may be impossible to get him.

Maye is dropping in some of the recent mocks, most prospect ranking sites have Harrison Jr. as the top rated prospect, do not see any see any scenario where Harrison drops, but Maye is ranked behind Nix in a few places and you always have the guy that puts up combine numbers and climbs a few spots.

The decision all gets down to your evaluation of Caleb Williams, if you have him as a franchise QB you pull the trigger, you could even trade down with your pick and get Keon Coleman a bit later in the first round.

Harrison #1 with a bullet.

Best QB available at #4 or #5 if you trade Fields, or else best LT available or trade down and pick up a pick or two if you can get that LT at 8 to 10.

That is where i am at right now on it. Harrison seems to be a for sure stud. Hard to pass on that especially considering how hard it is to figure out these QBs. Roll the dice with the best available with the other first round pick.

Great WRs are fun to have but typically don’t get you anywhere (until/unless there’s a great QB throwing him the ball).

Would never take a WR #1. Pick your QB, if you are not confident enough to draft a QB #1 in a deep QB draft that you pasted on last years QB draft for, then you shouldn't be a GM.
