I was lol'ing yesterday reading the HFBoards Hawks forum. Some of those guys spouting how this is just rumors by fans of other teams due to jealousy of Hawks getting Bedard after winning three cups the previous decade.

the more I think about it the more I think the hazing rumor has more legs than the Bedard rumor. For one, it would be pretty easy to keep the Bedard thing a secret unless someone saw Perry going into her hotel room.

second, there are some really bad things you can do in hazing will get you in trouble especially with minors involved.

Banging a teammates wife isn't even remotely illegal so would the Union even allow a termination based on that?

I'd agree, its likely hazing specifically because of this. Unless its specific in the player's contract, "don't fuck your teammate's mom", there's probably no leg for the Hawks to stand on.

Davidson said it didn't involve other players or their family, so not Bedard’s mom or hazing. They asked if law enforcement would be involved and he said it is a workplace matter, so a non-answer but possibly not criminal. No one believes the Hawks though so it doesn’t matter really.

The thing that came to mind while I was driving tonight listening to the Hurricanes game was that he could have bet on the NHL. But I would think the Hawks would just let the league deal with that scenario and let them suspend him instead of eating the rest of the $4M.

Unless they are saying that they don't owe him any more money because he violated the contract, and they will let the NHL take their time to go to the NHLPA and hang his ass.

My only question about that is....wouldn't the Hawks say that if that was the issue? Given the Beach gay sex fiasco I would think that the Hawks would want to be totally transparent about anything sex/power dynamic related going forward.




Also, just because he denied it was Bedard's mom doesn't mean it wasn't Bedard's mom. I even said yesterday that I hope the Hawks deny it even if it's true. But until they actually say what happened the Bedard rumor is going to have legs no matter how teary eyed our 22 year old GM gets during the press conference.
