We're at #1 and #7 today. I think you can get the quarterback and Bowers or the 2nd best WR in this spot. Maybe the LT if you don't think Braxton Jones is good enough.

bumper crop of WR in this draft

Even if you do think Braxton is good enough, keep building the lines. You are one year away from a crises of talent at guard.

Trade down from #7, get a couple extra picks, grab Tuimoloau late 1st and Van Pran in the 2nd.

They will either trade out of #1 or trade Fields. Either way, they will have more picks than what is present.

ESPN's ranking are accurate. The Commanders and Titans have 0 wins in their division. The Bears have 1 more conference win than the Jets. Those are the tiebreakers AFTER head to head.

I think they're more likely to trade their 2nd first round pick and Fields.

You're right. I swear I saw something different. I think I posted the link in one of these threads a few weeks back.

The Bears have gotten fucked on SOS before if I recall, dropping 3 or 4 spots(vs teams with same record). This is the first time I can recall in a while SOS may favor them.

Commanders and Jets with sneaky last minute tank jobs

I trade both number one picks for more draft picks along with an all pro starter for the team we are trading with. With the picks, I want Sanders, the TE/R from Texas, the offensive tackle and center from the university of Minnesota (Seems like bringing in two all americans from the same team might prove to be a smart thing.

As for the all pro starter, I'd probably lean toward going after an all-pro DT. I might also want to receive the other team's 2025 first round draft pick if the team was likely to be bad in 2024. This as I understand it would give them three number one picks in 2025, right?

It isn't as easy to get a cost controlled, pro bowl WR thrown into a trade as Poles made it look last year. It really was brilliant of him and underappreciated. Now, all us Bears fans are like, "yeah, we'll take your first two picks and we'll take your best player as well" in every trade I see.

Good point. I just think that should be sort of the thinking that takes place in Poles mind. I like what Poles has done trade wise thus far. With the exception of the trade with Pittsburgh, most of his moves and players drafted have been pretty solid.

Assuming that they have let's say the number one over-all pick and their own being from #4 To #7, and assuming they keep Fields, what would you recommend them doing trade wise? Who do you think are the most likely trade partners?

The Bears can't trade beyond pick 3 if they're trading down from #1. At this moment, I don't believe you can walk away from this draft without Maye, Harrison, or Williams. The Patriots are unlikely to trade up, and the Cardinals won't have a reason to if they're locked in the 3 position.

The Patriots are the first team I would dangle Fields in front of.

I’m going to say it now, JJ McCarthy is a dark horse pick for QB in the top 3-5 imo. And if the Bears land Harbaugh, it will be really interesting to see what he does.

If McCarthy dominates against Bamma and goes on to help his team win an NC.. it gets interesting even without a Harbaugh grab.

Also, draft Maserati Marv

Also, if the Bears land at #1 and they like both Maye and Williams I’d like to see a trade back a spot (like they should have done and could have done last year) to add more future top picks and hopefully get a high 2nd back for this year.

Harbaugh made Krapernick look good too so I’ll acknowledge JJ could be fools gold..

Harbaugh don't even trust him, that's why he only gets to throw 8 passes a game

Alabama will beat Michigan by 20 plus points, McCarthy will not be able to scramble around against a solid SEC defense, and there is no way Michigan is running the ball, and Bama has first round talent at CB, so not sure how they score any points.

I'm worried the Panthers will find another win. I think pats have tiebreaker so they'd get first pick

Even if (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky struggles, I can't see the Patriot offense doing anything to the Steelers defense on the road. I expect the Steelers to win by a lot.

The Pats are good against the run, so Mitch will have to bet them with his arm....think we've seen the "make Mitch play QB" movie a few times.

Them being underdogs adds to why I think it will stand out more if he plays well and they win.

Also, Michigan is no slouch talent wise themselves and Harbaugh isn’t an ordinary Big 10 coach.. I don’t see them getting coasted by Bama as easily as some may think. I definitely favor Alabama but I don’t think they’re just going to eat Michigan’s lunch. We’ll see tho

Nah, Michigan has the best over-all defense in college ranks. Bama doesn't have a high powered offense. Bama might win but the winner will not score over 20 points in total.

Then again, I expect the officiating being a huge factor against Michigan in this game. I expect a very one sided officiated game.
