One person was hospitalized after four police impostors forced their way into a Northwest Side home Saturday afternoon, typing up seven residents and pistol-whipping one before making their escape.
The incident happened about 1:20 p.m. in the 5300 block of West Altgeld Street, according to police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien.
Four armed men identified themselves as police officers and forced their way into a home with seven residents inside, O’Brien said.
The men restrained all seven people and ransacked the home. After taking several items from the home, one of the men pistol-whipped one of the residents, O’Brien said.
The men were seen fleeing in a car with an unknown amount of items, O’Brien said.
The injured person was taken to Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center in an unknown condition, according to O’Brien, who did not believe the person's injuries to be serious.
No one was in custody Sunday afternoon.
Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
