It will be fun to see what Poles does with his picks and who he likes at QB. Finally something other than debating Fields 24/7 .

He's been good. A case can be made that the Bears could have moved him to the middle and spent the Edmunds money somewhere else. I like the three of them together, though. It also sounds like Edmunds is one of the team leaders.

With a good corner and a DT/DE, the Bears next season will have a terrific defense.

How many more wins would this team have with Minshew or Mayfield at QB?

A solid vet likely takes the easy check downs, gets you 3-7 more points per game, and at least moves the chains in the second half and is not a total disaster in the 4th quarter.

In many ways Fields is a more athletic version of Mitch, a guy that looks like he should be a good QB, but cannot and will not ever be able to process what the D is giving him at the line of scrimmage and make the right read.

Warming up to the possibility of Maye and Nabers or Odunze, could trade back a spot or two and still get those guys while picking up extra draft capital, still think the goofy owner in Washington is the one you target to fleece.

There's still some media sticking to "Fields is improved" despite 4 TD's and a 77 rtg his last post injury 5 games.

With Sunday's game, in key moments of the game, Fields is now...

4th QTR +/- 7 points: 15/31, 155, 0 TD, 2 INT, 4 Sacks, 55 Rushing, 36.4 QBR
Last 2 Minutes of Half: 22/48, 205, 1 TD, 6 INT, 4 Sacks, 14 Rushing, 25.4 QBR
4th Quarter: 41/80, 463, 3 TD, 6 INT, 8 Sacks, 176 Rushing, 50.2 QBR

Since Twitter is all about comparing Fields to Lamar, let's look at the same splits for him:

4th QTR +/- 7 points: 29/46, 283, 2 TD, 2 INT, 5 Sacks, 105 Rushing, 76.6 QBR
Last 2 Minutes of Half: 41/68, 517, 4 TD, 1 INT, 9 Sacks, 96 Rushing, 97.5 QBR
4th Quarter: 45/70, 479, 3 TD, 2 INT, 10 Sacks, 192 Rushing, 86.5 QBR

When they draft Harrison and Fields still fails, it’ll be because of Getsy…or if Getsy is launched and Fields fails, it’ll be because he had to learn a new system.

They have to draft a qb. Fields will go somewhere and be good but whatever. He will continue to have the same limitations. The bears need a QB so good he overcomes Virginia mcasky.

see, it doesn’t matter that he was decidedly average ( yet again ) against a defense that allows quarterbacks to go off passing the football, look at his rush yards !!!

If the Bears keep playing against really bad teams playing out the string under one-and-done head coaches, I see no reason why Fields can't be the guy.

Frustratingly, his supporters are juuust media-savvy enough not to get caught using the word "intangibles."

Watched the second half of the Arizona game again, and you see the exact same thing you see nearly every week from Fields, his footwork completely breaks down late in games, resulting in late throws and two to three opportunities for picks. You oddly see him start right at the wide open guy and then for whatever reason decide that turning his back to the D and scrambling around is a better play than getting the ball into the hands of the RB is a better play.

He appears to give up during drives after missing reads on first down, his shoulder slump and he starts to slow down even more in his drops, hesitates on reads even more, and hold the ball even longer, not sure that anyone can coach that out of him.

All of Justin’s major flaws are present even in his good games -holds the ball too long, over throws open receivers, doesn’t see wide open receivers, doesn’t anticipate well, and makes mistakes late in games. His identity is pretty clear at this point to an extent that even casual football fans can set their watch to these shortcomings every game.

He is also the most talked about QB the bears ever had. What a weird kid.

Cutler had his defenders. I wasn't one of them but the guy DID have literally one second to make decision before getting mauled and curb stomped.

Not really. The trestman bears of 2013 or whenever his first year was the most prolific offense unit the city has ever had.

The Lovie years lacked help for him on offense but after that the Bears had Bennet, Marshall, Jeffery, and Forte.. and some solid (not great but solid) O-line play.

Russell Wilson just got benched for the last two games. If the Bears think there is any trade value left in Fields, why not do the same thing? Why risk him having a major injury. Just say he tweaked something and send him home at this point.

Some fans have short memories.. Cutler was easily the most polarizing Bear in my lifetime. We spent years arguing about him lol

This Fields situation doesn’t come close to the Cutler years

Cutler+marshall was the epitome of meaningless talent. Fields+harrison would be the same bs

For injury contract guarantee reasons.

But hey, take the W on a guy equaling or outperforming Love in most categories getting benched if you want.

Dan Wiederer appeared coached up about his Fields opinions on M & H. Now though Fields passing is unimpressive he's made significant progress in his passing deficiencies. He didn't offer any statistical evidence to that opinion. The Fields detractors seem to have to go 'fine young man" or "showing improvement" route to protect themselves.
