Next week is a huge game for the Packers, they will be smart enough to pressure Fields and double Moore, Bears likely lose the game in the 4th quarter and lock up last place in the division.

The Jets vs New England game could help the Bears second pick, not sure if a 7-10 Jets team would drop below a 7-10 Bears team, but your second pick maybe moves from 10 to 9, but you want New England to lose to keep them at 2 or 3 so you can get them into the Caleb Williams bidding war with Washington, maybe only move down from one to two or three and pick up extra picks while still being able to grab MHJ or Maye, if your sticking with Fields you will have chances to move down several times and could pick up tons of early round picks.

If you are sticking with Fields you almost have to get MHJ to give him a guy a second WR option, you would have two guys that just need the ball within five yards of them and MHJ could go up and get the errant high throws that the 5'11" Mooney and Scott cannot get, he also catches the passes they both drop, he easily catches the TD pass that Scott dropped yesterday.

You gave Joe Barry way too much credit in that first sentence.

If Fields were even a league average QB, Bears already make the playoffs with this weak-sauce schedule they played this season.

Good news for the Bear is that after they book-end the season with losses to Green Bay next week, they'll finish in last place in the division again and again have a last place schedule next season.

Agreed. I do not believe Fields is the guy. But I would rather have MHJ (closest to a sure thing) than a QB like Caleb if there are lots of questions about him- height, attitude, etc.

If the scouts are confident about one of the QB’s in the draft, then go for it.

Absofuckinglutely.

Caleb Williams gives me Baker Mayfield II vibes. Mayfield's renaissance season hitting a speed bump today against the Saints. Although I think if the Bucs beat Panthers next weekend they take the putrid NFC South and get the 4 seed.

Some made the Kyler Murray comp.

Did anyone ever ask Eberflus or Fields why they were throwing with 2:02 left in the game and up by 20? Fields got sacked and fumbled and was lucky not to have been hurt.

Herbert showing again why is a starting level RB. The guy is 8th in ypc, 6th among rb. I think he has made himself much better at receiving this year. I'd like to see him add blocking next year. It really is the easiest skill

And it's not about him playing under "perfect" conditions. Its just not having him play under conditions that are rather shitty. Which their line happens to be.

And away we go!

One Assessment of Bears Offensive Line Strength Shaky at Best
Analysis: Pro Football Focus calls the line a key to Caleb Williams' success this year and ranks the Bears line 28th overall but their individual grades fail to support such a poor rating.

I'm not sure if you read your post or read the article. Outside of center, the Bears linemen are ranked high by people who do those things, and no one is bitching about Caleb.

28th ranked is 28th ranked.

The article you posted says it doesn't add up based on their individual rankings of the Bears players. More importantly, it has zero to do with your post.

The 2 biggest question marks on the roster are by far O Line and QB. You claim that they aren't. If they aren't then the Bears are Super Bowl Contenders. Which no one believes that they are. Other publications didn't have them to make the playoffs. Which in theory they should make provided the "upgrades" at QB and receiver. However strangely enough, such predictions have not been forthcoming.

You probably should have started a new thread if you wanted to share these thoughts. They're unrelated to the post you bumped.

LTG gonna LTG. Another so called Bears fan who would rather be correct than see the team he supposedly loves have success. Such a sad way to live.
