RIP to the former sun-times blackhawk beat reporter. only 72. main source of fully digesting blackhawk games - the next day after listening on the radio. remember eagerly reading him and neil milbert (occasional bob verdi article) in the tribune the day after blackhawk games when i was in high school and into the late 80s. the sun-times sports sections back then had 10-12 pages on a week day. he covered the hawks during the mini-boom of the early 80s, only for the hawks to run into brodeur & the canucks and then the buzzsaw of the gretzky oilers in the conference final.
