The morning was bad, but the afternoon/evening stuff never manifested. I guess we can put this into the bucket of another overhyped storm by the weather weanies

Shoveled an inch of slush yesterday and have maybe 2 inches of snow on my driveway. Have to leave at 4am to drop off for OHare so hoping the roads are decent.

Edit - 2.5 hours round trip. Roads weren’t too bad on the tollway. Got behind a convoy of 4 plows that slowed us down for about ten miles.

Just crazy you only got this.

Same here (Deni$land). It (finally) made investing in a good snow blower worth it.

It is unexplainably satisfying to set a good edge with a snowblower. I'll stand there just staring at the work sometimes.

ask your wife to drive by and see. if it's not, it will be in seconds after her arrival.

I prefer the look of manual shoveling, just like hand-cut dovetails vs those produced using a router jig.

I take things one step further. After a good winter storm, I typically wet the snow down with my garden hose, let it ice up, and then use a hammer and chisel to sculpt the edges for my driveway and walking paths. The whole process typically takes about 9-12 hours. It sucks when the snow is all melted two days later.

 Sometimes I’ve wondered if icing the top of the lawn and snow piles would keep the snow from blowing/drifting.

it's always healthy for the lawn do a 1 wet cut in the winter. If you mow it when there's snow over it, the grass blades retain more moisture

Talked to the inlaws tonight. They got stuck in that band of lake effect snow yesterday and today that just sat on top of their county. They were at close to 40 inches of snow.

They shut the toll road down from exit 49 to 72. Laporte County took a beating.
