Too lazy to look at the stats to validate, but I wonder if the Arizona rushing yardage is inflated by Kyler's own rushing yards/scrambles, sort of how our vaunted rushing attack is really driven by Fields' contributions.

take a look at the Bear YPC over the last few years

They were able to line up and run the ball when they wanted. They did seem to suck when they only needed one yard

Which is so often an issue with a spread offense.

The Forecast for LA today is mid 60s. Pretty good opportunity to schedule a business road trip.

I think that you are correct with the thought that this is more of a Caleb Williams fact finding mission than anything else.

Eberflus would possibly be hiring his replacement if they go with Kingsbury, so if he is hired, I think it would be driven more by Poles. Flus was a boring, lame OC even more boring than himself.

Quite a bit of mental masturbation here, but it seems the OC interview process allows a smart GM to self-scout his current personnel and get input on some of the potential draft picks.

What do they see or not see in Fields, what kind of offense best fits the current personnel, fresh sets of eyes looking at your franchise and getting unvarnished second opinions from guys that are way more plugged in than your QA staff or any outside consultant.

In the past they chose not to interview Mike McDaniel who is a goofy dude, but could have given them a totally different perspective which this franchise desperately needs because they keep swinging and missing with GM's, HC's, OC's, and with the drafting and development of offensive skill players.

Not exactly. A lot of their rush yards came because they chose to run on obvious passing downs or when they were behind in the late 3rd or 4th quarter.

They were able to line up and run the ball when most teams would rightly choose to pass.

If you went the route of retaining Eberflus you never were going to get a great candidate

But did they even interview any great candidates?

Dude turned Geno Smith into a pretty good NFL QB.

That’s the stuff of miracles there

I guess we'll find out soon enough whether or not he can coach.

Who are the great candidates they should have interviewed?

No idea whether this is good or bad.

At least he had done the job before

I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

I'm guessing the Bears don't know either.

Maybe Trace Armstrong knows.

This was the best hire of the mediocre batch of candidates they had access to. There were some whispers of Waldren getting a HC gig earlier in the year.

Getting the Bears’ OC job is a red flag.

It’s like Terry’s view of the Cubs’ manager: whatever that person accomplished before getting that job, he becomes an idiot the second he puts on the hat. I know nothing about Waldron but safe money is that he’s an incompetent.
