I would contend Love and Fields have similar talent around them. In both head to head games and full year stats, Love is far ahead of Fields. And without a doubt, the Bears had the better D especially in the second half of the season.

Yep. Teams with average to below average skill players whose play is elevated due to the QB:

Chefs
Texans
Rams
Bills

Keyshawn Johnson quite obviously does not.

Texans “slight improvement”?? They went from 3-13-1 to 10-7 with a playoff win. Do you watch the NFL at all?

Keyshawn Johnson attributed it to coaching almost as much as he did to QB play

Bucs? They have Evans and Godwin.

Should the Bears go after Baker?

You think the Bucs make the playoffs with Kyle Trask leading the way?

The Texans did more than simply simply drafting a quarterback. They had invested in major upgrades to their offensive line. The Bear's amde a four game improvement themselves and could have easily matched the Texans record with a little luck.

Lot of talk about Baker and much of it is deserved. What's not being said is all he did was revert to the "good Baker" he was during some of his Cleveland days. His QBR this year is tied for second best after his 2020 year.

Yup - and with two VERY above average receivers.

So don't confuse me with the dumbass hawk mult. I didn't include the bucs in my list because I consider Goodwin and Evans to be good players, much better than what the other teams on my list have.

No, they should draft Williams. Better question would be should the Bears go after Evans.

This is a question a team asks when they’re not in position to improve their QB thru the draft.

There’s no reason for the Bears to pay a guy like Mayfield a huge long term contract that cripples them financially in other areas when they can draft a guy with higher potential that doesn’t require a max deal until several years down the road.

People need to stop overthinking this.

I’d rather the Bears spend their free agent money on the defense and resign Johnson and bring in a guy like Brian Burns at DE.. build the offense thru the draft and let them grow together. Evans is getting old and would seem to be a better fit for a team looking to win now that is just missing one or two pieces.

Draft Williams/Maye.. draft a WR at 9, trade Fields to recoup some picks (like a 2nd) and draft the best Center available.

this has to be the most logical play. easy to overthink all of this when youre looking at stats too. but we, as fans who watch this shit on TV... this is what we should be doing. Fields should be traded at 12:00am March 13.

Fuck Baker Mayfield. But it isn't "overthinking" to explore getting a haul. That's just thinking and the draft is 3 months away. I mean, good for you it's a slam dunk the moment the regular season ended. I respect that.
