He definitely has played better. Don't know if you can build around him though. His defense still sucks, and he still isn't a 1. Probably a viable #3 type option. Which isn't bad given the salary and how bad he played the previous years.

I don't think he's a #1 either, but you have to start rebuilding, and he is a solid start.

Yeah, I would agree with this. Credit to the Bulls and to Coby especially for the development. He has become a near all-star this year. At the same time, I don't think he is the guy to build around, but part of a group that they should, a top 2 or 3 player.

Granted, the rest of the team is a mess, but it's great to have a player grow like Coby and be worth watching.

Yeah he worked on his game. You can tell that. The biggest improvement has been with his handle. Kendall Gill yelled it for him for about 2 seasons at least in the post game. He kept telling him to work on his handle and you can tell that he has. Guys can't get up in his dribble like they used too. And he also can get downhill. Before he'd have to settle for a lot of step back shots because his handle wouldn't allow him to get by guys. His decision making has also improved. Not point guard level but enough where you can play him there in spots. The defense is still shaky and the shooting % isn't where it should be if you are going to be elite. But he is nowhere near the bum that he used to be and you got respect a guy that realized that he had to get better. And he is one of the few guys on the squad that actually cares about winning. Before I didn't believe that he did. He used to hunt stats all the time. Now he really doesn't. However its obvious that some of the other guys (namely Derozan and Lavine) still do. That's one of the main reasons that the team isn't better. That, coupled with a coach that doesn't hold them accountable for it, Are the biggest issues with the team.

Not only was his defense not bad last night, it was pretty good. I know he was guarding a 58 year old, but Conley couldn't do shit against him.

The handle changed everything. This is a weird stat but it tells the story...2nd in the league in "blow bys".

Sad fact is billy gets jobs because he won't fight management when they require high paid players to play selfish.

Yep. Jason Goff mentioned that a couple of seasons ago and he was correct about it. He caters to his star players and often times its to the detriment of the team.

Nick Friedell killing the Bulls on 670, says the following:

VP and Gm asleep at the wheel
Both need to be fired for their inactivity
There is no plan
Williams and others are not working
They are satisfied with mediocrity

Correct on all counts!

i said it before. paw-lavine-ball. those are the guys that didn't work out. ball was actually a good signing too, so it's really only two misses. hard to say thats being asleep at the wheel.

by the numbers Karnišovas has been worse than GarPax. You really can't argue that.

Seems the Sixers wanted DeRozen and opted instead for Hield.

All EURO front office guys are supposed to be smart. This guy came front the Nuggets, but how good are the Nuggets really if they didn't luck into Jokic in the 2nd round? We hired the first dumb dumb EURO.

AK and Eversley reportedly spent five hours strategizing how they could acquire DeRozan at the deadline before being informed by a staffer that DeRozan was already on the team.

The Bulls are five games under 500 including this season over the past 4 years with virtually the same core. They are on track for yet another riveting season where they finish five games under/above 500. They want to run it back with the same core. That is the definition of being asleep at the wheel - the car isn't going anywhere.

For real this is a major problem if you want the team to be good. If fans are buying tickets, buying drinks, etc., if you're getting engagement on social, if there are no scandals and whatnot, and the product isn't national sports news-level embarrassing, you're getting a raise as VP and GM. We need boycotts, we need fans with trashbags on their head in the stands, and we need a vocal bloc of fans online and in person decrying this putrid product. That's why guys like LTG and others who support this crap and the VP/GM are a problem - they are the reason why ownership isn't bothered to hold team management to higher standards. Why should they do anything when the LTGs of the world are stil gonna buy tickets, etc., anyway.

The attendance figure is misleading, if you look at the % of stadium filled they are not that high

Our perverbial core is Coby White and vuch. Everyone else is not consistent enough to be untradable.

Yeah one overpaid aging big and one fringe all star combo guard is a recipe for perpetual mediocrity. Sounds like that's right where you want the team to be anyway.

You sound like a late 90s emo kid. If we had this team, but lavine, ball and Williams were what they should be, what would you say.

What does what they should be mean. Williams is a bust and Ball is retired.

I haven't bought a ticket in years. I prefer to watch the games from the crib. I'm a Bulls fan and they have been much more successful as a franchise than guys like you will ever give them credit for. They aren't an albatross of a franchise. Even this team would be competitive barring injuries. Actually the biggest problem with AK is that he did try and "go for it" (As guys like you constantly implore them to do) and now they are paying for it. Had they simply stayed the course with the young guys they'd be a lot better currently
