Did you just refer to a blanket & mat as “sliding equipment?”

5 mildough is pretty good for a -2 WAR player.

I honestly wish him the best. As far as an exciting player, he was a top 5. Guy could barrel it up to all fields on any count. SS was not his thing and somebody should have had the foresight to change that early on.

Guy was (is?) a hitter. He wasn’t up there walk hunting. He’d swing the bat and get a hit three times out of ten.

It sounds stupid but the style is much more fun to watch than a guy milking a count until he strikes out after 8 pitches so that his team may have an advantage in game 3 of a series.

Also his last season was one of the more embarrassing in recent memory.

Fair enough. That was an awful opinion.

It wasn't an opinion. It was a fact. At the time he had the highest WAR of any shortstop in the game. You may not like WAR. That's fine. But saying the guy with the best WAR is the best is far from an "awful opinion."

At no point was he ever looked at as the best SS in baseball. That is an awful opinion, WAR or no WAR.

So he was the best offensive SS in baseball for a period.

That does not make the best SS. SS is a defensive position. To be the best SS in baseball you have to be able to play defense.

I believe Frank Schwindel was the best first baseman in baseball for a month in 2021

Does WAR not take defense into account?

There are 10,000 outlandish JOrr posts over the last year or two you can go after. This isn't one of them.

That’s quite the butcher shop the Marlins have opened up on the left side of the infield

No, he had the most overall value at that time.

I don't even care if you disagree. Just don't get caught up in Dumbfuck Bob trying to claim that what I said was ridiculous.

I'm not sure. I just know that at the time of that conversation Anderson had the highest WAR for a shortstop and it wasn't just three good at-bats like Schwindel put together.

TA7 was my favorite player for a few years. Going to Miami will likely be the end to his career. He's going to have 7 kids on the way before August.

Fair point. It’d be like sending a guy with gambling issues to the Raiders.

Jorr has an eye for baseball what can I say? What was that choad's name who he said had the sweetest swing in baseball and he was gonna be a masher and a year later he was selling cars in Sacramento?

you guys treat it like it was a blip. He was one of the top hitters for average across the league at any position for 2 seasons (19-20) and won a batting title. He hit over .300 for four consecutive seasons.

He's lost his way beyond baseball. That affects a person's game. Anyone who's ever had a bad disagreement with his spouse knows this.

I just hope he doesn't hurt Burger's development. Still the worst trade Hahn ever made.
