Like the leaves falling from the trees, we seem to hear this a$$ wine every year that no one has given him a chance. His has little talent left and was a CANCER in the locker room of everywhere he went before he got desperate.

No one wanted him 3 years ago when he was 37. Why would anyone want him now?

It was funny though when he said that the Bears could use a guy like him. A guy who takes chances, isn't afraid to make the long throw, and may make some mistakes (which he said the stellar D would cover). Um, Jeff? The Bears already have that guy...and he's a decade younger.

Did he pay MJH to have him on?

Was Howard Griffith there too?

Bring in Mo Gardner and me and it would be like a reunion of when we all used to hang out.

Anyone find the irony in the fact that the poster's initials are JG?

I heard the interview in its entirety, and it sounded like Jeff George was begging for another chance to at least tryout with the Bears or another NFL team. I think NFL teams everywhere have already seen Jeff's body of work, and it's not good. When I hear Jeff's name, I'm immediately reminded of the infamous shouting match during a Sunday night game at the Georgia Dome with former head coach June Jones over 15 years ago...He sounded bitter to me, and I don't think Jeff can help any team right now. If I'm Caleb Haney, the rookie from Colorado State who wears #12 in the Bears' navy, white & orange, I better get ready, just in case...Besides, what does it tell you when the Lions bring in a washed up Daunte Culpepper, the Steelers likely starting Byron Leftwich Sunday vs. Indianapolis, and a no-name named Shaun Hill starting for the 49ers Monday night in Arizona? Besides, Seneca Wallace & Charlie Frey in Seattle have been as terrible as Brad Johnson & Brooks Bollinger in Dallas!

Why in the world would any NFL team want a QB who is so old that he has a Starting Lineup figure?

That's exactly what my half ass theory creating mind was thinking. Either that or he is about to be announced as a new analyst on ESPN.

The answer is a resounding YES of course we needed another Jeff George interview!!
The unintentional comedy of his UncleRiconess alone is worth it.
The way he was talking about the Bears dominant d was awesome cuz that means hes not even following NFL this year in between filming himself throwing the ball.
Combine that with the fact that MJH completely relax and say whatever they want (within reason) because theres no need to be polite to secure further interviews(i.e. MAC sniffing when JG mentioned being on the Michael Irvin show)
I would like this to be a yearly thing with JG

I thought Jerry Glanville did a good job analyzing the NFL, first for FOX Sports, then for CBS Sports & most recently with "Inside the NFL" before HBO cancelled it last winter. As far as I know, I thought the man who left tickets for Elvis Presley was coaching somewhere in college... :?

Starting LineUps were awesome. I still have the Whole Dream Team Set in the box at my parents house. Hopefully not infested with moth balls.

Uncle Rico's been making the rounds - this from ProFootballTalk.com:

JEFF GEORGE STILL WANTS TO PLAY
Posted by Michael David Smith on November 10, 2008, 2:00 p.m.
Any general managers out there shopping for a veteran backup quarterback, Jeff George would like to speak with you.

George, the 40-year-old who last threw an NFL pass in 2001, has reiterated that he still believes he can contribute to an NFL team.

“I find it hard to believe there isn’t a place in the game for me. My arm feels like I’m 25,” George said on Sirius NFL Radio, per Peter King of SI.com. “I’m not asking to be a starter, I just want a spot on a team. I still hold out hope I can play in this league. I’m working out three or four days a week, staying ready. Some people might laugh about it. I’ve been hearing the excuse, ‘You’re too old,’ but I look at guys now playing near 40, and if you can throw it like I can throw it … Why wouldn’t you take a look at me?”

George made similar comments on Michael Irvin’s radio show, and he sounds like he’s sincere about his desire to return. But he’s sounded sincere about returning for years now, and so far, he’s been met with silence from NFL general managers.

On the other hand, in an NFL world where Daunte Culpepper can go from unemployed on Monday to a starting quarterback on Sunday, stranger things have happened. And really, for the teams that have suffered quarterback injuries this season, what would it hurt to bring George in for a look?

Peter King link: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/w ... k10/5.html

I had 40-year-old, frustrated-to-be-out-of-football Jeff George on the Sirius NFL Radio show last week. "I find it hard to believe there isn't a place in the game for me. My arm feels like I'm 25," he said. "I'm not asking to be a starter, I just want a spot on a team. I still hold out hope I can play in this league. I'm working out three or four days a week, staying ready. Some people might laugh about it. I've been hearing the excuse, 'You're too old,' but I look at guys now playing near 40, and if you can throw it like I can throw it ... Why wouldn't you take a look at me?''

Daunte Culpepper's first pass w/ the Lions...INTERCEPTED! Besides, there was a Drew Stanton sighting for the bumbling, stumbling, fumbling Lions. The fact that Daunte started ahead of Drew must be a sign how badly he must really suck...
