I'm not so sure about that.

The Commanders want Caleb Williams badly, and I'm still not sold on the fact that Poles is sold on Williams.

I have a little anxiety about this as well. I'll stick with Poles should be fired and murdered if he's afraid to make the pick.

I think Poles has been sold on Williams for over a year.

We will find out soon enough.

But the Commanders are going to offer a kings ransom to try and change Poles mind.

Murder him and then there's no need to fire him.

On second thought, you're right.

The goal of every offseason should be to increase the age and payroll of the team.

I think they are trading down to collect some draft assets since Fields isn't bringing the return they thought. I expect Verse or Turner to be their 2nd pick. The Chargers are definitely drafting a WR now.

Think it depends on who is there at 9, unlikely Nabers is there, but Odunze would be tough to pass up, but if a QB slips you likely get a team that will over pay, you can get interesting prospects at WR into the early second round, but none of them will last until the third round.

Seems he likes his young guys on defense, but some massive roster churning on offense already, with the ultimate roster churn at QB still yet to come.

He is a walking injury at this point of his career. Great player when healthy.

I think the Bears made a great trade, gave up a draft pick yeah but picked a veteran receiver who seems to be a good teammate too. Also, unless they extend him, it is 1 year and no big deal.

He had 110 receptions in 13 games. I'll take that production every season.

He's on the last year of his contract so it's a one year rental. Poles won't extend him. Nor would I. Too injury prone and wrong side of 30.

But it's a good move to load the team up for one year.

He caught over 100 balls in 5 of the last 7 seasons. And one of those other 2 seasons he had 97.

He played in 13 games last year.

Does not sound like a walking injury

Poles once again losing draft assets because he can’t get deals done in FA. This can come back to bite him. Also bringing in an older player past his prime is head scratching, Poles seems to be treating this off-season like the Bears are only a piece or two away from competing for an SB rather than a team that still needs to be built.

This also brings me closer to thinking they will be moving off the 1st overall pick to gain draft assets back -even if they like Williams.

Buckle up.

They can move off #9 to gain draft assets too.

Return won’t be as big if they do it now, they’ll need to wait and see if a QB slips during the draft. That’s the best way to maximize 9. Poles doesn’t have the patience to wait that long.. I think he moves off of #1 and wouldn’t be surprised if a deal is all but done already to do it.

We’ll see. This move has an ominous feel to it for me.

He has missed 11 games over the last two seasons. Durability will be a concern especially on wrong side of 30. But yes, he is a very good player when on the field.

Loading up with vets to help out a rookie QB.

They never did this with Fields, have always thought they were out on him from the beginning, but knew they needed time to rebuild the roster so just stuck with him another year to see if he would improve while using early picks on defense and staying away from big FA contracts.

That all comes to an end this year and now Poles has to start producing wins or his seat will get very warm quickly.

It of course, as it always does with every GM, comes down to the QB decision, hit on a QB and you keep your job for the next 2-3 years, miss and you find yourself standing sitting next to Ryan Pace at the Ground Round in Mobile scouting at Senior Bowl for the next ten years.

You think the Redskins or Patriots are trading future assets to move one or two spot? You think the Bears are willing to leave the draft with the 3rd worst quarterback?
