They would have received a compensatory pick (better than a 6th) if they held on to him and he signed elsewhere as a free agent after next year.

Not necessarily. It depends on how much he plays, what he signs for and any compensation can be offset by the FA's the Bears sign.

Did the Bears receive a 4th round compensatory pick for Mooney? That could change if they add anyone who has a similar value, but it's getting later in free agency.

1
2
2 (via Panthers)
3
4
4 (Mooney compensatory pick???)
5
6
6 (via Dolphins)
6 (via Steelers, can turn into fourth-round pick)

Yeah, the draft next year should have a lot of potentially good players in the late rounds.

Hoge and Jahns have speculated that Poles didn't mind giving up mid- or late-round picks in this year's draft because the talent level drops off so much after round three. Almost everyone seems to agree that next year's draft will be much deeper.

Also curious if he uses any of these picks to help get back into this draft.

I really don't think he's hurt himself, but Jeremiah and Brugler are both saying he's not the #1 WR on some teams board. Even if that's true, he's still probably #2, at worst, and would still go in the top 6 or 7.

That tracks with Chris Simms also having Harrison as #3 on his WR board.

It's plausible the draft could work out with Naber or MHJ being there.

This is what was written in the lead-up to the picks:

I'm instead putting myself into the general manager chair for each team with a first-rounder and making my own picks. So it's not necessarily what I'm expecting to happen but rather how I'd personally approach each Day 1 selection. This is all based off my own evaluations, preferences, philosophies and rationale

The draft expert industry is now overpopulated so even the credible people hot take for clicks.

If the Fields drama proved anything, its that none of these people are really insiders but no one is an insider regarding the draft. At best, they are useful idiots. The overwhelming majority are no more informed than you or I. They are just looking at "tape" (jargon to hide they are looking at youtube videos) of the top 15 or so guys first listed by the bell cows of the industry.

David Carr thinks Fields will be the week 1 starter.

Quote:
“Justin Fields is going to be the starter Week 1,” Carr said on NFL Total Access Tuesday. “I personally believe that. This offense is not something that takes a ton of experience for the quarterback position to run. It’s a nuanced offense, but it’s more RPO-based. It’s more quarterback is going to run the ball. He’s gonna be a threat. Arthur Smith’s a smart guy. He understands 11 on 11. Around the league, when the quarterback runs the ball, there’s an advantage there for the offense. Just look at Lamar Jackson.”

We now have a rooting interest in the Panthers sucking and Fields starting.

How did Tanesha not make the cut?

She interviews HC & GM candidates but she’s not equipped to advise women, or whatever this bored is supposed to do?

Hmmm...imagine if this board had an "Advisory Board", can see a Caller Bob posing the in approved arms crossed with head tilted pose, why not make it a calendar with an "Advisor of the Month", the mods have to make this happen, could raise enough to put a new TV in the activity room at Shady Acres.

Some incredibly handsome men with some rather interesting biographies, they would have to shut the internet down as women across the world would be hitting the refresh button just to gain a glimpse of the boyquarium members.

C'mon Inquirer Robert, we all see the ladies at Shady Acres crowding around you in the activity room at Shady Acres, do not try to deny that you are as Uncle Terry used to say about Bill Parcels, "a physically sexual man".

Diddy would have to get himself a fairly sturdy casting couch to vet the applicants for CSFMB Advisory Board.
