That was a hell of a 3rd period by the Hurricanes. Complete meltdown for the Islanders and they damn near had Reilly fumble one into his own empty net. I think at least 2 lines worth of Isles players got sent to the showers for multiple tantrums after Carolina buried an empty netter.

I found Vegas/dallas. Keep me abreast! :P

I feel a little sad that my son who was always a little buddy isn't here for the first time in a lot of years.

I think he scored their 1st goal. They are a really good team. I will be happy with Carolina, Florida and Vegas advancing....and whomever plays the oilers. As long as you continue to roster a piece of shit like Kane I can not root for you to do anything but continue to lose.

Kane Oilers is tough for so many reasons! Why do you hate him?

I've always kinda liked Vegas. My son thinks this might be Dallas' time.

It's funny how hockey people like players or teams. I hate Boston and Marchand. I Like and hate goalies. I'm a little sad Detroit isn't in it. May god have mercy on my soul.

Good times.

He has one of the absolute worst off ice reputations in history yet he gets chance after chance after chance and nothing really every happens to him. He filed for bankruptcy during the prime of his career because he is an idiot and burned up money he hadn't even been paid yet. His off ice allegations make the other Kane look like a choir boy. The oilers dragged him out of the gutter when he should have been left to play in a beer league in Belarus or something. He is also a dick on the ice.

The kids all play now. I never played. I would have loved to have played but I don't think there was any ice in Kane County until they built the rink by the cougars stadium which had to have been when I was in HS and too old to start playng.

do you have boys or girls?

My day loves hockey and took my son to skate and my son was off. They shared it. He was always little and quietter. It was so great for him. He was dx'd with epilepsy last year but I'm hoping he'll join a 18+ or senior league this summer.

I can't skate at all. Can you?

2 girls and 1 boy. 10U, mite and learn to play. That sucks that he couldn't play last year but there are plenty of options 18+. I can skate. I don't do it as much as I would like to. I think I should do some stick and puck days with the kids so i can fire some pucks instead of just skating in circles. I know my 10 U daughter can kick my ass skating now.

Oiler taking their foot off the pedal in the 2d as they are wont to do and letting the King hang around.

If your girls can or have any interesest in hockey they should go for it. They can get great scholarships if they are good.

Good times, soak it in.

Basically in Kane it was pond hockey in the winter or a parking lot that was flooded. I think Fox Valley Mall might have had an indoor rink but that wasn't for hockey. I knew people who played that lived in Elgin so there had to be something but I think it took more effort than my folks cared for and to me it was just a fun winter diversion. I always broke those old wood sticks the first time I took them out on ice it seemed.

Watched the 2nd and 3rd of the Ranges and Caps. Oshie caught Pannarin in the visor with a high stick and it was missed and then Oshie had to talk shit about it to him afterwards. Pannarin fucking rocked him cleanly in the 3rd and sent him to the dressing room. He is lucky it was clean and that it didn't cost them late in the game but good for him for giving it right back to that douche.

I watched fl/tb. bobvrosky had a great save that kept the game tied. Good game.

predictable stuff in leafs-land. the core4 are being blamed for everything wrong in the world. come july, everyone will love them again. it's been a tough week for them, bob cole passed away and the leafs are losing to a non-juggernaut bruin club.

the oilers skinner with his best ever game for edmonton - a shutout away against the kings. surprised the oilers could win a 1-0 away playoff game - credit to skinner. never considered him an elite goalie, maybe this year he steps up to that level. opposite for helleybuck - elite gk who decided to slump at the wrong time.

evan bouchard with the bomb and watching him play, we see where the blackhawks lack. i thought the blackhawk PP would get better by default - just with bedard. the PP was a tad better in 23-24 (16.6% vs. 16.4%) than 22-23. with no real point shooter threat, no good net front guy, and others not so skilled on the PP; the opponents can sag their PK coverage and semi-blanket bedard. zaitsev with the hardest and most accurate shot and he never really played much and will be gone anyways.

Does anyone else think the crowd microphones are drowning out the announcers on the Vegas-Dallas broadcast?

hindsight is 20/20, not sure if young sheldon regrets the samsonov game 7 selection. felt he made some good saves in game 7..though the bruins game-tieing goal was a bit soft. woll played very well in games 5 & 6, thought woll's starting signaled that the leafs were done with samsonov. leafs are done, we'll let blackhawk media talk about marner and his $11 million cap hit. bruins usually play well defensively every game, i don't believe they can stay with florida in a best of 7 - not enough offense.

pesce still out for carolina...i hope they beat the rangers, not going well right now. andersen wasn't in top form against the islanders, needs to step up.

swayman with a great performance...only 1 goal against/faced 39 shots. bruins got scoring from unlikely suspects against a human bobrovsky.

waiting for the nhl scales of justice to hand out punishment to zadorov and soucy. with nearly simultaneous crosschecks; after the game ended, they could have (maybe did some damage) mangled mcdavid's kidney and smashed his windpipe. zadorov already got fined for this, a max $5k slap on the wrist. mcdavid not an angel in all this, slashed soucy in the leg to get this started...the first crosscheck on mcdavid made the 2nd crosscheck more dangerous.

zadorov had already dumped kane into kane's bench and has to be #1 on their charles martin hitlist bounty.

same with boston and florida's sam bennett. got in a great 'discreet' head shot on marchand in game 3, knocking marchand out of game 4 and his crosscheck helped him score a vital goal in game 4. boston has to be seething. in my mind, pay back for padding ray bourque's assist totals when bourque was battling doug wilson and paul coffey for most D points. seemed to me that bourque would get an assist on a cam neely goal, even if bourque was getting treated for a cut in the dressing room.

lots of intensity, i hope carolina wins tonight. carolina needs a decent G performance tonight. the rest will take care of itself.

the immediate thought in carolina has to be that kochetkov will take over in G. andersen just not good enough. i believe the canes outshot the rangers in every game and the soft goals allowed in game 6...got to move on from him. feel bad for andersen, came back from health issues, but we remember him in goal in anaheim with not the greatest playoff game 7s at home - including one to the blackhawks.

got to move on from him.

Should be a great Cup matchup.
If it wasn't for a certain Conner McDavid I'd say Panthers in a slam dunk.
Still picking Florida, what say you?
