that could be Murphy the DT from Texas as well

So who are the Bears taking at #9?

Biggs, who called the Wright pick last year, says the Bears will pick Odunze.

Is he really significantly better than guys they could get later in the round? Is he any better than them?

The NFL Network says that MHJ has made only two top-30 visits: to the Cardinals and Bears.

Does Poles have the stones to trade up for him?

I think the consistency of production is what separates the top 3. The two Texas WR and Thomas from LSU all have just as elite of traits.

If there is a trade down scenario, I wouldn't fear drafting one of the next group. In fact, if the trade down involved getting back a second, I like the top 3 DE and then drafting a WR like Tony Franklin from Oregon in the second.

The Bears shouldn't be afraid to trade their first next year to shop in this draft. I objectively believe they'll be drafting in the bottom third of the draft for the foreseeable future. I'm not sure we'll see another draft this deep anytime soon.

Unless they plan to trade Caleb and run with Bagent.

The Bears seem to want everyone to think they are taking Odunze at #9.

I'm not sure if they are simply loose-lipped and really plan to select Odunze or they are actually concerned that another team is going to move into Atlanta's spot to get Bowers or the defensive player they really want.

It seems like their is a sub 50% chance Odunze is there at 9.

I have a bad feeling it is going to be Byron Murphy.

Josh Lucas has been rhapsodizing about him for months on the Hoge and Jahns show.

If it's Murphy, I'm going to be pissed. I do think McCarthy could still be on the board at 9.

Murphy as a player is fine. That's drafting him too high and I think we need to re shape this team as an all gas offense.

I don't want fine at nine. I struggle to see that from his highlights playing nose tackle.

The bigger problem is Poles drafted multiple tackles last year. I'm not confident Murphy is better than either player.

Selecting anyone other than Bowers on one of the consensus top 3 receivers at #9 is failure in my world.

Yikes. I too am not a fan. I vote either a top pass catcher or trade down.

They could trade down 5-6 spots and still get Murphy

This is the problem with having kept Eberflus, and a mistake this organization makes year after year.

We should not be drafting to optimize Eberflus' defensive system. If his defense is good and the offense sucks next year, he is gone. Then we'll be stuck with a 3T who is worthless to the next coach instead of an offensive playmaker who could excel across the league.

Draft as if Eberflus doesn't exist, because he very well may not.

All gas, no brakes. Amon-Ra St. Brown just got $120 million over 4 years. They’d be stupid not to take one of these three WRs at #9 and have 5 years of control.

Not to mention the fact that Allen's contract is up after this season, Moore's contract is up after next season, Tyler Scott didn't impress last season, and Velus Jones sucks.

That's the current WR corps.

We need receivers pretty badly.

Your new quarterback appears to be a really good “receiver “ with the nail polish and pink pants.

I'll start painting my own fingernails if he can beat the Pack with any degree of regularity.

Wait until he has to play when it's 5 degrees and snowing. The SoCal guy will burn his fingernails on the sideline heater.
