This is the problem with having kept Eberflus, and a mistake this organization makes year after year.

We should not be drafting to optimize Eberflus' defensive system. If his defense is good and the offense sucks next year, he is gone. Then we'll be stuck with a 3T who is worthless to the next coach instead of an offensive playmaker who could excel across the league.

Draft as if Eberflus doesn't exist, because he very well may not.

I really am not pro or anti Eberflus, but as soon as they got him a DE, that defense got a lot better. I think they should spend the #9 pick on a WR. I just don't wanna see them trade back for more draft capital.

The defense got a lot better when they started playing horrible QBs.

Exactly. It is a bumslaying defense that Poles would be sorely mistaken to believe is good enough on the line going into next season. They need at least one and probably two more pass rushers.

Eberflus has been given enough tools to work with on defense. It's time to focus exclusively on offense. In fairness to Eberflus, the incompetence of Justin Fields and the offense significantly impacted the defense.

Yes, but the incompetence of opposing QBs significantly bolstered the defense last season, especially in the final 9 weeks or so.

Daniel Jeremiah's final mock draft has the Bears taking Fashanu at #9.

He talked to ten GMs about the Bears' situation at LT, and they all said they preferred Fashanu over Jones and would make the pick in Poles' position.

Caleb said he would choose Olu or one of the top 3 receivers. Olu has terrific feet for a big guy, and he's arguably the best pass blocker in this draft. That said, he's a shit run blocker, and he's also a gentleman. I don't want my offensive linemen to be gentlemanly.

I have only seen that if Rome is gone before nine and the one I read said they would trade down to do it then.

Yeah, Olu looks like a mid to late first round pick. If the media's projections are accurate, he could be an end of round one or early round 2 guy.

If Odunze is catching passes from Caleb with Moore and Allen, I have to believe the Bears will draft Odunze no matter what, even if they need to trade up to get him.

I think people are sleeping on Bowers as a pass catcher

I think my issue with him is slow and big for WR and slow and small for TE. Maybe a slot?

The late one I read this morning had Murphy one pick before Bears #9.

I think you're wrong, but I won't allow any selection/selections to ruin Caleb Williams Day for me.

Jeremiah did say that the Bears might be able to trade down to get him. He is very connected around the NFL, so I tend to take his mock drafts more seriously than I do some of the other "experts".

I have had the Falcons at #8 taking a defender for a long time. Their new HC is defense minded and they are in a good spot offensively. I find it hard to believe they will pass on Turner.

A Score caller just referred to Odunze as Rome O'Doomsday. Good nickname.

Too many fans and "experts" are overvaluing picks. Poles needs to be as aggressive as possible this weekend. Preferably, all offense.

Latham to the Chargers may be a thing. I can understand that. Alt is too much of a gentleman and probably too tall. I don't think the Chargers need a LT either.

Latham is a Wisconsin kid, family still lives in Oak Creek. Played 2 years of high school here before transferring to IMG.

Belichick said the stuff that leaks out in the final hours is more accurate. That said, there are so many aggregators out there that bullshit spreads fast.

I am going to watch Pat Mcafee’s draft coverage specifically to hear Bill’s thoughts.

The Los Angeles Rams are actively looking to make a major move in tonight's NFL Draft. According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, the Rams are making calls to get into the top 10 of the draft. Los Angeles currently holds the No. 19 overall pick so it would cost them a decent haul to do so.
