The Bears are apparently keeping their options open at #9:

Any chance Mccarthy drops to 9? Would that be interesting with the Vikings at 11?

How would Bears fans feel about Laiatu Latu @9? Considered the top pass rusher but also a potential health risk.

I still want Odunze. He is presently +350 to go #9.

Not a high RAS score guy. Can't seem him as a Poles guy.

The Los Angeles Rams are actively looking to make a major move in tonight's NFL Draft. According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, the Rams are making calls to get into the top 10 of the draft. Los Angeles currently holds the No. 19 overall pick so it would cost them a decent haul to do so.

value chart indicates the bears should expect back 19, 52 (middle second) and 99 (low third) if they traded down

I'd definitely do that if the WR aren't there

I've read similar RAS thoughts regarding Packers picks. I prefer performance over stats. I remember Hub downgrading Aaron Donald because of his height, and I've seen too many guys get picked because they meet measurable thresholds despite limited results. I'm not saying that RAS or other measurements should be dismissed entirely, but they also shouldn't eliminate players who have proven success.

Agreed.

RAS is just food for thought at best. Nothing more than another algorithm put together by people who could never play themselves so they can feel included somehow.

It’s all about tape/film. Can the guy play football or not? No pie chart is going to answer that question.

Anyway, Odunze was the right pick. A WR that most likely is the top player taken at his position in any other draft. The Bears currently have most of their money invested on the defensive side of the ball, build around the QB right away -it’s the smart move. Especially giving him a weapon to grow with that will be on the same rookie contract timeline with the extra year option due to being a top 10 pick.

Btw, off topic.. I was criticized a couple months back by a few here for saying 6 QB’s will go in the 1st round this year. How ya like me now..?

The whole interaction was incomprehensible, but they like each other and that’s all that matters.

Yeah, that was odd.

Maybe he is Caleb’s receiver in more ways than one.

We're showing our age here. That was a perfectly normal reaction. Probably a cleaner version of what to expect from young athletes.

It was shades of the “shots, pew, pew” video from the Cards’ coach without the sex offender vibes.
