Should be an interesting tournament and the course has had a couple of very memorable major championships with John Daly winning here in his breakout event and Tiger Woods fending off Bob May in a playoff. damn, I thought Scheffler’s wife was due to pop during the Masters , hence all that “ if he gets the phone call he’s going to withdraw even if its on the 17th green on Sunday !!”

He withdrew from the Wells Fargo this week because she still hasn't had it. Not sure if they plan to induce or anything. I'd say if she doesn't have it by this weekend it probably doesn't look good for him to play the PGA.

Second year in a row a Rockford guy has qualified. He's now the head pro at North Shore Country Club in Glenview.

Would be cool if he pulls of a Michael Block weekend.

Kopeka has been playing exceedingly well on the LIV tour, and he has had, oh, just a bit of success at the PGA previously.

Speaking of Michael Block he is +5 thru 8. He quadrupled his 2nd hole. Man that has to be deflating. Looks like he was ping ponging it back and forth over the green a few times.

Who's shooting 63 today? Or how many people are? Non-stop birdies. It's like I'm watching the John Deere Classic

Xander off and running.

Lotta rain in the Louisville area which has made the course very gettable. Should be tougher this weekend.

Dustin Johnson's game has completely fallen apart since going to LIV. He can't even break par at some of these majors.

Yep, absolutely no drive now and could give 2 shits about his place in the history of the game.

This is insane. Hopefully they can make the course a little tougher tomorrow even with the rain.

Greens this soft just makes it almost impossible to play tougher. Even the 255 yard par 3, the balls land on the green like a wedge.

I realize there was rain, but a 62 in a major should get someone fired.

I'm not shitting on it, but if we're looking at -19 under leading Sunday, that's less exciting (at least for me), than if -6 is leading. Short of actually hitting it in the water, or so deep in the trees they have to chip out, they can just throw darts at any pin location.

Half the field is just getting started. -4 might not be top 10 by tonight.

I don't really care if the winner is at -19 or +3

If 3-4-5+ guys are in contention with only a few holes left, that's exciting regardless of what the scores are. Masters Sunday- particularly the back 9- was largely a snoozefest as Scottie ran away with it. I would rather not see another runaway this weekend.

So how do you control Mother Nature? I mean sure if you knew months in advance it would be this soft you could have narrowed fairways but sometimes there isn’t a damn thing you can do.

I just prefer guys face some sort of consequence for marginal shots. When it's this soft, they don't. Tee shot in the rough, they can still fire at the pin and stop it. Miss the green short side, and the flop shots/pitch shots aren't going to run out as much anyway.

Every golfer should get kneecapped on the first tee imho.

I agree, there's nothing that can really be done at this point, and I'm still going to watch it, and enjoy watching it. I still can prefer it play harder.

They’ve commented a few times on how “there’s no such thing as long rough” on this course. Idk, grow grass, narrow fairways, windmills on the greens…do something to give the course an air of difficulty.

It’s like watching Mike Tyson knock out Peter McNeely.

The US Open is where we usually see a -4 winner. PGA has always been the Rookie level major. I always thought that’s why it was the last. Moving it up was an odd choice.

The rough is very deep, the fairways are wider, PGA Championship always plays this way and with the wetness you don’t get the run out you hope. The rough is plenty deep, hell Tiger had to chip out twice this morning.
