FWIW, Biggs and Kane have them @ 10-7, Wiederer @ 9-8.

Defensive line is still pretty suck and will allow points to good teams. Caleb Williams will throw some inopportune interceptions, as all rookies do.

I'm not as high on Sweat as many of you are. IF Gervon "Larry Allen" Dexter lowers his pad level and takes another step in his development, I think the defensive line will be fine. Besides, Eberflus has played a significant role in picking the groceries for his defense.

I love the recklessness and passion CTE Brisker plays with, but he's prone to giving up big plays. So is is Stevenson. That's problematic against good to great quarterbacks. This secondary shitting itself late in games is concerning.

Edit: If you go to service during the Jaguars game, I'm going to turn my back on you.

MANY are afraid to appear overly optimistic. If the defense is as good as MANY of them believe, the Bears will easily win 10 games.

Right. But as gd said,a rookie QB is likely to have interception issues at some point. Even the Great {redacted} Love threw a bunch of 'em last season. And the Bears Dline, while improved, is still suspect at times.

And lets not forget the only coach in NFL history to blow multiple double digit 4th quarter leads is the Bears' head man.

There is plenty of reason for optimism, but 10 wins sounds about right.

6 or 7 wins if the offense lights it up...not buying this defense

I don't think Caleb is like most rookie quarterbacks. I'm bullish on this team because of him. Unlike most quarterbacks entering the NFL, Caleb didn't throw a lot of interceptions in college, and he's going to a team with enough talent to shield him from typical rookie issues. The best comp for him is probably Luck and Herbert when it comes to talent. I think the Bears have more offensive talent than both of those teams.

What are the 7 games you see them losing?

much of this i have no basis just gut.... i think they can beat the rams. i think the jags will beat them, just because their players have more experience playing over there as it's a big adjustment. i think they'll beat GB this year. Lions at home was a win last year why cant it happen again especially in december? I dont think they'll beat Detroit on thanksgiving though. im drinking the kool-aid, but anything less than 10 wins will be a disappointment this year.

I love that we are getting Anthony Richardson early. There are a lot of people who seem to think his brief starting role was both good and that he will come back at that level.

They have 10 games before they start playing in the division.

By then, Williams will have figured out the NFL.

It's still unclear who will participate in the best known iteration of "Hard Knocks" which follows a team through training camp. The Bears are eligible to be chosen if no teams raise their hand. It's easy to see how they could make good summer TV, too. No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams seems ready to take on a leading man role, and he's got a stacked cast of playmakers around him like DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, D’Andre Swift, Cole Kmet. Of course, the defense is filled with stars of its own, headlined by Jaylon Johnson and Montez Sweat.

It’s well-documented that the Bears view the show as a distraction and would rather not have the TV crews invading their space.

I don't know if it is laughable or just sad that the only time the Bear organization seems to have any real influence in the league is when they put their feet down and refuse to be on Hard Knocks. You would think that a team would like the publicity Hard Knocks might give, especially to a sleepy organization like the Bears, a founding franchise that is an after thought for most football fans. But no, they don't want the distractions in training camp, which might prevent them from winning in the regular season..... a formula that has worked so well the past 20 years.

This would be the perfect season for the Bears to do Hard Knocks. It's amazing how they can't see their long-storied ineptitude being a distraction, but somehow being on Hard Knocks would make them look any worse than they do all by themselves. Never underestimate the power of deinal.

The Giants' Hard Knocks is some new Off-Season Hard Knocks. The Bears could still make the regular version.

GB is likely stuck in 8-9 win hell. Not bad enough for a top pick, not good enough for a Super Bowl. Laugh Out Loud.

I would hope and guess that some of those later games are flexed to 3:15 or SNF.

Weeks 12 and 16 would be the logical targets but both times they are before a short week.

He didn't "figure out" Notre Dame worth a crap did he? People might be a bit more worried when his smallish body gets a few of those shots leveled at him by those big bad mean defensive linemen and other defensive personnel who get paid to take opposition off the field. It should be worrisome to Bear's Caleb cultists that Fields larger and more athletic frame was able to absorb the great majority of the hits he absorbed and made positive gains on a lot of them. By the way, the Bear's did NOT upgrade their offensive line worth a shit in free agency and the draft because of their not taking advantage of their once in a lifetime two number one draft pick scenario. So the Oline could be Caleb's Achilles heel.

Technically he improved as that game went on.

its weird on the field he doesnt look too small, but without the pads he looks like he can be knocked over easily. i hope that just means he can fill into his frame and be a beast.
