I think, based on my age, that a lot of Icons in music, TV, Film that are ahead of me are going to be dropping off like cicadas...which should bode well for my anxiety

Andy Daly.

He's the funniest man alive.

And if he discovered he's a woman, he'd be the 6th funniest woman alive.

Dick Van Dyke. I grew up watching classic TV on WGN before cable added 1000 channels. Don Knotts and Andy Griffith were painful, leaving DVD as the lone star remaining from those shows.

Agreed, if Dick Van Dyke were to die today, at the age of 98, it would be truly tragic and heartbreaking :?

Ditka's passing is going to break my heart. I was 9 when the Bears won it all, so Ditka was like a god to me. I know he's been a douchebag as years have passed, but it won't make it any easier.

Probably just retirement. Heck, he's probably out there now, commenting (commentating?) on schoolyard fights!

Enjoy those golden years, Gene!

Rethink this.

I will, but I am impressed with the sheer number of untruths in that post. My count is six.

However, can I ask why you are bumping posts from 2012?

NSJ was making $1M a year 15 years ago. At this point, he would probably drive his car into a restaurant if he were making Deni$ money.

I thought he infamously declared that he was at 350K/year.

You could be right. I thought he said he got bumped to $800k and then stopped posting.

I think that we need people to show us how to thrive in our old age. Trailblazers, if you will.

I just turned the dreaded 65 last week, so I am looking for role models. Honestly, I think people like Gene and Helen Hunt can remind us that old age doesn't have to be painful.

Its Mel Brooks with me. I don't think that any other movie maker made people laugh as much as his movies did and laughter is/was a great thing. Unfortunately Woke happened and good comedy died as a result. :joker: :joker: :joker:

That's a great point about the Trail Blazers, Tommy (even if you are a mult). Guys like Clyde Drexler and Kevin Duckworth have long served as models for aging gracefully. Probably the leading light in this respect, though, is the Good Doctor himself, Jack Ramsay, who remains a repository of unbridled energy and displays a zest for life that few others can match. I keep a picture of him in my office to remind myself that his joie de vivre is something to which I should aspire. Glad you are as big of a fan of the Trail Blazers as I am.
