Right. And when he sees the glove move, the catcher made his call very easy!

Umpire calls balls and strikes. He doesn’t call where the catcher’s glove is. If he is he should be fired from being the umpire

Wrong. The umpire can use whatever method he chooses. Getting the call right is all that matters. A moving glove suggests a ball.

If the batter runs to first on a 3-2 pitch because he’s trying to get a ball call but the catcher moves the glove to get a strike do they cancel each other?

It's not wrong. If the catcher doesn't think it's a strike why should the umpire call it a strike?

Because it’s the umpire’s job, and not the catcher’s, to decide if it’s a ball or a strike. If the batter doesn’t swing at a pitch it must also not be a strike. Why would he try and deceive the umpire by not swinging. He was fooled? Then maybe the catcher was too when he moved his glove.

Do you think moving the glove leads to more or less correct calls?

The difference is the batter isn't attempting to deceive when he fails to swing.

Orly?
You've never seen a guy with a 3-1 count toss his bat and take off towards first just before a called strike 2?

A pitcher tries to deceive by throwing a change-up or any off speed pitch. A battery in baseball is the most deceitful duo in all of sports and we need to back the blues who have to deal with these assholes.

Obviously. That's the entire game. But he's trying to deceive the batter. Not circumvent the rules by tricking the umpire into making a wrong call.

I am backing the blue. If he sees the glove move, he calls a ball. That will quickly put a stop to that particular brand of skullduggery.

So pretty much every good knuckleball should be a ball since the catcher's probably going to be moving their glove when they catch it.

A catcher calls for a ball out of the zone but the pitcher misses his spot and sends a meatball down the center of the plate. The ump should call a ball because (1) the catcher called for a ball out of the zone and (2) the catcher moved his glove to catch the pitch.

theyve been trying to stop shit like that in the NBA with flopping. you can make all the rules you want but at the end of the day its on the officials to recognize when it happens. they dont penalize for flopping in the NBA for the same reason they couldnt call a catcher out for moving his glove. its part of the game. in the NBA, they simply dont call any foul when a player flops. in baseball, it shouldnt matter if the catcher moves his glove or not. the ref has to ref.

That's why you can't have robot umps. 13-5 in the 9th inning with 2 outs hell yeah that's a strike.
