I begrudgingly have to give LoHo some credit on the WNBA talk today. He said he didn't think the WNBA was quite ready for the spotlight that the rookie class was bringing. As someone who watched plenty of games in-person and on TV, I say this in the politest way possible: bitches be crazy. Nas mentioned the brawl a few years back and we see the way the rookies are all getting treated (CC, Reese, Brink...), there's a lot of stuff the league got away with publicity-wise because way less people were watching. Now that people see it, the league doesn't have a good PR response to it.

Reese has the opportunity to be Bill Laimbeer to Clark’s Jordan and she’s taking it. Credit to her.

They should lean into the toughness of their players. That's kinda what Caitlin has done. She's talked about growing up and competing with brothers. Basically saying, "These bitches ain't shit." It would provide an interesting contrast to today's soft NBA.

I heard some of Larry and Bernstein. Bernstein pretending to be confused by what is happening. Larry knowing but not wanting to say for some reason.

It's a race thing. It's not necessarily hating Caitlin Clark by the black players. It's really the black girls hating white America for finally paying attention to women's basketball because of Clark.

A lot of the black girls feel they are every bit as good as Clark, if not better, yet nobody cared about them. I don't know what to say to that. I guess they have a right to feel bitter. But they have to understand that Clark's attention helps all of them. No, they are not gonna get 28 million from Nike like she got. But average salaries might go up.

In the end, this bump for women's basketball will be short lived. Clark will end up being just an OK overall player. And the ratings and game attendance will go back to what it was after this year - nothing. And I don't think it's a boost in ratings or attendance right now. It's just for Clark games.

Of course it’s a race thing. So was Celtics-Lakers.

The players just need to live up to the race war they’ve created.

The league needs to get Brink or some other hetero white on the Indiana team. It’s obvious Clark’s teammates don’t care for her for whatever reason.

I know Magic and Bird helped bump the NBA. But the NBA before they got their was still a profitable league. It wasn't going to fold if Bird or Magic never existed. Then Jordan brought it to another level. Still, if Jordan didn't exist the league still would have been around.

The WNBA has been operating at losses since it started. That's the difference.

They’ll have their most successful year in the history of the league in 2024. Through a handful of games, Clark’s team has outdrawn all of last season.

They need to take advantage of this and put a watchable product out there. A benign race war is the best option.

I understand. I'm just saying the league wasn't going to fold. The WNBA should have folded every year of it's existence. But the owners are funding it at a loss to help women's sports.

Reinsdorf didn't take on the SKY cuz he didn't want to lose moneys. Other owners were cool with it.

The NBA Finals were on tape delay and players were snorting cocaine in the locker room. The NBA was surviving. It wasn't anywhere near being great. IIRC, an NBA team missed payroll or something crazy like that.

Once again, I'm not debating that Magic and Bird bumped the league. I'm simply saying it wasn't going UNDER.

Magic and Bird didn't eliminate the cocaine problem either. LOL. That continued through out the entire 1980s and into the 1990s.

Without Magic and Bird, I'm not sure Jordan matters.

No. It wouldn't have. High School and College basketball was huge across the United states. There is no way there was never going to be a pro league. It would have always existed.
