Julie learned, as all victims of layoffs do, that your "work family" and professional identity can be taken away from you with the snap of a finger. Nonetheless, she still feels that writing "Listen Up, White Men" blog posts and doing talk shows during Cubs rain delays are more important than having brought two people into the world. If my mom had told the world she was more proud of doing traffic/continuity than raising my sister and me, I'd have killed myself. And believe me, I understand the importance of a good program log!

She would have made six figures with easy hours, zero expectations and be able to work on women's issues all day long as a public defender. She would have a vested pension and be ready to retire in a couple of years. She might have even been able to be a judge.

She also would have been able to do most of the writing she does on the side.

I can't imagine what her family feels like after reading something like that. It's one thing to think it, even if it's a passing thought, it's something else to verbalize it and believe it.

Julie's weird because there are certainly aspects of her personality and stories from her life that are obviously fabricated (making an infant-puke-towel burka after 9/11 to show solidarity with Muslims at Fox Valley Mall comes to mind) virtue signaling, but then there are other times where she really seems like such a raging narcissist that she'd brag about being a toxic mother if it meant she got a show on ESPN or a million subscribers to her content. I sometimes can't tell which one is the real bit she's doing.

I openly cheer every time a writer loses their job. Any time you see a hot take (either side of the political aisle) click on the bio and you'll probably see writer, host, content creator, etc. These people are the bane of our society because they think they're the voice of our society which leads to some obvious narcissistic diagnosis's. Well, the people who listen to them may be the real problem if we're being honest.

These coddled assholes don't know what it's like to roof a house, blacktop a driveway in late July, or even work as a line cook on a busy Saturday in a tourist town. Most of society works 50+ hours now as the norm, but Dicaro can't even post a newsletter because of "surgery recovery"...you're just laying there - you should be posting extra newsletters if you had any type of work ethic.

These people aren't even journalists...they are op-ed columnists at best. You're not hustling tracking down sources (except through maybe DM and then need a mental health break after all that work) you're just putting out shit like "why the White Sox losing streak is racist"....good riddance clowns.

they went to school for that 'career' because it was fun and easy. and a chance to network with very wealthy people.

shes mad because wealthy people dont like her, and nobody wants to pay for narcissistic tunnel vision feminist thoughts.

you can still make a killing in journalism. but ask any one of them that does do well. they arent taking the easy stories and they refrain from opinions. she is the opposite of that. shes the type of person that would benefit greatly from being hit in the face with a 2x4.
