If you are for space flight, things are going fine. Not great, but fine.

You have to define space before I'm in.

Say what you want about the future of space flight and Elon Musk and the entire SpaceX program, but the views of these launches and re-entries are breath-taking. They have created a great broadcast for people to enjoy.

Starship got the living shit beat out of it and still landed. Pretty unbelievable.

the successful splashdown of the booster was pretty impressive. i wouldn't have wanted to be on that disintegrating spacecraft however. Still really cool to watch.

I watched the starlink one and the landing of the booster on a pad was cool.

Watching the fin melt and then 5 minutes later still apparently work was crazy.

The inevitable "the tiles don't work well enough" moment might be here.

I'm starting to think what nasa figured out a long time ago. You can't make reusable heat Shields.

The gaps between the movable fins and the body of the ship seems an unfixable area. That exactly where the melt was and then spread from there.

did they confirm it was intentional? they did say they left shield blocks off, and added extra sensors behind the naked spots to see how hot it actually gets and what happens. this could have been expected, but i dont think anyone thought the thing would still work after that much damage.

SpaceX, when it doesn't blow up, is an absolute technical marvel. Much better than a taxi without a driver and only two seats in it.

They should build a statue of Elon. He caught a flying building with iron arms. It was incredible.
