I guess Chris Vosters wasn't the voice of the future after all.

I haven't watched Flames games in a long time, but most people seem to think he's pretty good.

I don't think he really grasped hockey, which for a hockey broadcaster tends to be a career-limiting attribute.

Thinking three steps ahead here, if this is in conjunction with the new RSN, I'd expect Schriffen to get replaced, too.

Devoting 75 percent of Foley's last season to auditioning his potential replacements makes even less sense now. Vosters didn't even last as long as Dan Kelly lol

I usually only watch Flames games as the second HNIC doubleheader game so I can't really comment on Ball.

I think Kelly and Vosters both lasted two seasons, it just felt longer because 2006-2008 was an eternity in Blackhawks years. Really shows what a mess the organization had become by the end of Rocky's tenure that this guy was the best a year-long talent search could yield.

personally, i welcome this. not sure if i can welcome this and still feel a bit bad for vosters.

considering what occurred with foley and eddie o, since when does blackhawks management want the fans to experience a top quality hockey IQ broadcast? i guess starting now, with ball and pang. a bit of news is out there that pang may have his fingerprints all over this move.

vosters loved the animated broadcast and loved talking about the barbie movie with caley chelios. enough said.

i'd ask panger - what is the difference between vosters not being hockey nuanced/unable to pick up on large to tiny details and consequently not able to dialogue with panger/share with the viewers and you knowing which players made mistakes/how they made the mistakes - yet, not telling the fans? no difference. one doesn't know the game to tell us, the other doesn't want to tell us, lest he be called over-critical.

I haven't really liked Pang as a broadcaster going back to the days of the WBBM/WMVP pre and postgame shows where he and that hack Brian Davis would take turns being Baghdad Bob for the organization as it collapsed in the 90s. There was NO chemistry between him and Vosters, while Edzo the year before at least had a smidgen with Vosters. But if one of those two needed to go, Vosters was the right choice to get canned. I'm sure he can find another team in some sport to shill "BEST DAY EVER" for.

No, you're right. I think I blocked out 22-23 because it was such a pointless tank for Bedard death march, other than eliminating the Penguins at the end of the season.

Didn't Pang miss a lot of games due to his national commitments?
