Man crazy finish.

Glad for Bryson. Feel horrible for Rory. He had it on his clubs and just couldn't finish.

Definitely a choke by Rory, but at least Bryson made a great shot to win.

Jeez, didn't know Bryson's dad died recently. Weird that the broadcast wasn't rolling video packages about how much of an influence his dad was on his life, the joy of seeing the first US Open victory, and the importance to Bryson of winning another one. Wonder why.

Have you given any thought to how Jamal Khashoggi‘s family feels right now ????? you don’t get sappy sentimental feel good stories when you accept Saudi blood money, Bubba

2 up with five to play is definitely a choke. halfway through the round, I thought he was the guy to beat today the way Bryson was driving the ball. You gotta figure when you make three 20 plus foot birdies in the final round of the U.S. Open its going to be your day.

Bryson did 9/11, basically. That's what Jay Monahan told me.

Rory really shat the bed. That putt will be shown in replays for the next 50 years.

I think this answers any question about whether the tour is better when the LIV guys play as well .

Yeah any argument that LIV doesn't deserve OWGR points is moot after another LIV-major win. I might even buy my tix to Bolingbrook to see the reigning US Open champeen in the flesh.

This is quietly an awful broadcast.

I’m pretty sure Chamblee just said “the world is on Rory’s side” as Cantlay was lining up a birdie putt. I know his bias here but NBC has a guy calling a major openly rooting against one of the guys in contention.

Watched in the bar where my wife works, no sound. Don't feel like I missed a thing.

This. He putted well until he didn't.

Most of the LIV guys suck. If they rebranded as a Keopka-Bryson team event, then maybe. But otherwise they’re a bunch of bums.

Holy shit , Bryson changed his driver head right before the round ? No wonder he was spraying the ball all over.

Maybe, but when the OWGR is giving out points to the Asian, Austalia and Japan PGA Tours, the tour putting their golfers in the mix on Sundays in majors might deserve a little scratch, no? Shit, even Korn Ferry tour top finishers receive OWGR points, are we really to the point of arguing that LIV isn't at least level with the Korn Ferry?

They get points when they play well in a major, and dservedly so.

 How many Korn Ferry or Sunshine Tour players are top 50 in the world? How about top 100?

3 round shotgun start tournaments are NOT world ranking worthy. Especially when you consider MANY LIV guys clearly don't put the work in to be one of the top players in the world.

I don't know that shotgun starts make much of a meaningful difference in how golfers play a course, though I'm open to arguments. And yes it's a 54-hole format, but a handful of these guys (who are eligible, to say nothing of the ones who are not would perform) are popping up on the leaderboards of major tournaments on the regular and/or doing really well on their own tour. How competitive is the Japan Tour, really, compared to LIV? Or the Aussie Tour, etc.? I feel like there's a bunch of tours getting points that people don't realize, and they think it's just LIV v PGA. Kiradech Aphibarnrat, though I love him, doesn't necessarily deserve OWGR points ahead of any LIV player.

"A handful"

Brooks and Bryson are the only guys who have had repeated major success since going to LIV, and they were no slouches before the move. They also largely stayed out of the back and forth war of words. They seem to be among the only LIV players still putting in work to win majors.

Outside of those two guys, there is a random LIV guy here and there who cracks the top ten.

Isn't "cracks the top ten [in a major]" kind of a big deal? PGA pros play their whole career and barely make cuts, but the tour with a random smattering of guys in the top 25 is saddled behind the Australian Tour? And go ahead and argue that LIV is top-heavy, and then lets go and look at some DP World Tour and Aussie leaderboards over the years, I'm sure they're rich with new talent that has showed sustained success on the PGA Tour proper.
