I think The Athletic reported that the Kings offered pick #13 for Caruso.
If they are being offered 1st round picks in this class and it's considered one of the worst drafts in awhile, although it's still very odd that the Bulls couldn't land a future draft pick from OKC considering they have a few dozen of them...Giddey actually makes some sense with his PG ability even if he's coming off a regression season and also a decision on his next contract....
At the trade deadline, if they were offered 2 1st round picks, one of them would have been in the 20's, maybe closer to 30 and next year's (assuming one in 2025) would have also likely been in the 2nd half of the round don't sound nearly as attractive as it sounds at first reaction.
Currently, at #11, have to think they either go with a big or an athletic wing type.
The Giddey Trade is nowhere near as bad as it is being portrayed. He as traded because they have SGA who does similar things and Jalen Williams who does similar things. They like both better than Giddey, but that does mean Giddey's a bum. But there is no need for him as a ball dominant guard that isn't a shooter scorer type when you already have 2 guys you like better to fill that role. This deal is actually more curious from OKC's perspective because what Caruso does they already have Lu Dort and Cason Wallace there to do.
Bulls have to now move 2 or even 3 of that 3 headed monster. Sign and trade for Derozan and then move Lavine and then Vuc. If you don't move Derozan and Lavine then trading for Giddey makes no sense. He wanted out of OKC because he didn't want to come off the bench. If they don't move those 2 then that same thing arises here. Though I like Giddey as a player more than Coby.
Bulls can get away with Giddey, Coby, and Ayo as their backcourt. They need Frontline help. They also need for my guy the Paw to play his natural position. Trading Lavine and Derozan accomplishes this.
