yes, despite this brilliant player or that prodigy youth, didn't see them score from open play against a so-so austria. 3 goals off set-pieces.

now, if the referee red cards a dutch player in the first 15 mins, they may have a chance, just like in the czech match - that saw them make the knock-outs.

At least their guy gave an ultra right wing gesture after scoring.

My picks to advance to the semis:

Germany
France
Switzerland
Turkey

It’s 26-1 odds for a parlay…

yeah, no surprise. very bad boys. the turkish govt. is calling the investigation 'xenophobic'. of course it is...the turk says they are the 'sun people', whatever that means.

hopefully, the dutch humiliate them on saturday.

Switzerland seems like a pretty good pick against England. I'm not a huge soccer guy. I know England has the easiest route to the final, many think they're the best squad, but they're also playing like utter dog shit. They also always seem to choke. The goal in the 93rd or 94th minute goes against that and was incredible. But why did it take them that long?

erdogan cancelled a trip to a slipper factory to attend the match on saturday and hopefully he'll witness a national humiliation. demiral got 2 matches for the gesture - the turks summoned the german ambassador to protest.

ok, summon the german ambassador to whine about a sport ruling made by a sporting authority.

bankroll at -$445. germany and spain are both +170 to win in 90 mins and -115 to advance. ok. i''l take germany to win in 90 for $100 and to advance for $200.

will also play france to win in 90 mins (+145) for $200. portugal looked very good against turkey, sleepy in the other matches. pepe at 41 against france? ok..i think this is the match that france breaks out - no rabiot, which i think may help their attack. will also play mbappe to score today (+160) for $100.

Enjoying the claims of favoritism that Bellingham is still playing, as if the 2 gestures were similar and FIFA doesn't hate England.

Germany probably wins if Kai Havertz isn’t dogshit or an English ref doesn’t do English reffy things to Germany.

What a garbage match. Hope it ends with Big Ron missing a PK.

edit: or he could miss an easy one like that

rough tournament..spain does look the best. germany started can in the CM and that was a clear mistake. not disciplined enough over 120 mins to get to pens at home. france with griezeman and mbappe can't misfire like this and win the tournie. kudos to portugal, didn't think they had it in them defensively. could have easily won the match.

england has cost me a fortune this tournament, not playing the match.

going to play holland to win in 90 (-170) for $200 and also play a higher prop over (3.5, +230) for $200.

What’d you think about the no call on the Spain handball late in that game?

Supposedly someone was in an offside position so they didn’t review it because it wouldn’t get awarded anyway.

To play-through and qualify for next round:

Argentina -750
Canada +420

Colombia -110
Uruguay -110

Spain -126
France +104

Netherlands +112
England -138

Parlay across the 2 tourneys:

La Albiceleste | Los Cafeteros | Les Bleus | Oranje all to qualify for next round: +835

Argentina and Colombia 2 team parlay +120, almost makes you wanna bet on Canada

France and Netherlands parlayed together +324

I love that soccer is so unabashedly corrupt they have a ref who was guilty of match fixing doing a semifinal and if a player mentions the ref fixed a match they get fined.

It's like I told my wife Saturday...the only thing that makes soccer federations look like they're on the up and up is the IOC.

UEFA is as bad as FIFA...but it adds to the fun of the match.

Sorta suss that these matches keep getting resolved in the dead-zone of Xtra time. England-Slovakia first minute of Xtra time. Germany-Spain appeared headed for PKs, which pay out 10 to 1 for each side, or 5 to 1 to just have the match resolved in PKs. the only way to wager on an extra time wins is to bet the worst pay out Play Through, e.g., for England: -650 for play through (win any way) vs -240 for ML (win in full + penalty time) vs +1000 to win in PKs.

England's Harry Kane finally finds the net in the 1st minute of "Extra time", killing ML and PK win wagers, and also not paying out for HK as ATG scorer.

The Spain-Germany goal in the final 60 seconds of Extra time...a lazy bending centering pass (that no defender charged the guy making the pass to prevent, so it was like a mini, better positioned free corner kick ffs) into a telegraphed header that the German goalie couldn't be arsed to even try to save. It's a set play and the only side of the net in play is the part the header-scorer has in front of him; so the goalie should ordinarily reposition to that side of the net. Nope. Just stood there in the middle, behind the freaking goal scorer's position even and watched it go in.

It was a nice header, but the Germans did nothing to make it anything other than a practice level of difficulty.

I spent some time in the islands surrounded by soccer enthusiasts. All the commentors and locals complained about how bad England is yet here they are playing in the semifinals.

I do have to say, it was fun watching games in pubs filled with people who cared about what happened.

Well giving an extremely questionable penalty to England is a good start for the ref.

If Spain doesn’t rip England’s heart out in the final, what’s the point of even having the tournament?

Welp, thanks to Ollie Watkins, we're in position for it.
