The shooter was a registered republican. Granted, the kid was only 20. Not much of a voting history. Only one midterm election. He wasn't old enough to vote in the last presidential election. So maybe in the midterms he voted for a couple of republican senators/congressman. Just cuz that's what his parents told him to do. So he's registered as a republican. Then he realized he hated Trump.

Apparently burying the weapons and rounds within the event site ahead of time is a way they (secret service) have seen before. they typically run guns-and-ammo sniffing dogs over the grounds and do visual checks for disturbed top-soil etc.
