Bruce Timm resurrects the style of "Batman: The Animated Series" (a legendary show of the FOX Animation Block), and inexplicably brings in JJ Abrams (so he can jump ship at some point?). I think he just put up the money, honestly...

i'm through 3 episodes, just past meeting Catwoman (excellent voicework by Christina Ricci). it's definitely watchable, the odd choices for the update (i.e. why is alfred fat now?) aside. it's still got the same dark, underscored tone. the opening is awesome.

definitely will finish all 10 episodes. the new voice of batman is almost a perfect match of kevin conroy.

i wouldn't mind a reboot of the adam west batman tv show with the bad puns and POW! BAM! Good writers could make that a lot of fun for adults

3 episodes to go, and it's been decent. the way they handled harley quinn was lame, but the ghost episode landed pretty well. almost felt like it was going to go a scooby doo route. the 7th episode was strong, too, with bullseye.

there are still some groan-inducing moments but the animation, music, atmosphere, and noir-look are still the strongest elements.

finished today--last 2 episodes were probably the best of the season. definitely interested in a season 2 (which i think has already been approved).

batman finally refers to his #2 as "alfred" after deriding him the whole season and calling him "pennyworth"...still not sure about that little touch, but glad to hear him referred to as "alfred" finally.

the action was all well done.

Abrams made it for Warner but they rejected it so he had to shop it around. I have the originals but I'll pass on this one. Abrams is cancer.
