Looking over my 2024 NFL guide..

In 23 advanced metrics categories for
EPA Fields high-water mark is 11th in deep throws..
18th between the numbers and 19th on1st down in quarters 123.
.
Being blitzed he is 42nd...which is why I' m looking forward to him starting....the teams Pittsburgh will face will blitz him

4th quarter throws he was 45th....plenty of other bad numbers for him.

They're still saying it's Wilson's job and Fields is struggling to read the field. Also, Wilson has been a model teammate.

He was 3 for 3 with a 118 rating when I looked.

Non passer Justin Field went 5 for 6 passing and 6 for 6 unofficially. The one incompletion was actually a completed pass which Tomlin failed to challenge. The Center screwed up the snap on both of the fumbles and was abruptly replaced after the second series. Sacked twice on a collapsing pocket mostly. Both times the Rookie tackle was beaten on the snap. During one of the sacks Fields had a chance to get rid of the ball and on the other one he didn't.

He was a part of 2 fumbles, even his on Head Coach was disappointed with that part of his quarterback.

And the center took responsibility for it. Even someone as biased as you has to admit that a fumble on a center/QB exchange isn't exactly the same as a fumble where he was the only person who happened to handle the football.

And Tomlin didn't exactly do him any favors by failing to challenge the completion on the sideline either. And it was a first down at that.

Anytime the quarterback is involved in a fumble, he is partially responsible, period. My on son played quarterback and your number 1 objective is to protect the football.

Partially and fully responsible are 2 completely different things. And a fumbled snap can go either way in the "blame game" .
