The quarterback’s number one job is to protect the football, he was a part of 2 separate operations that did not do that, that is not a positive.

6-6 actually. I watched the game. He didn't look bad at all. Just more confirmation bias from "WE" at CFMB. Which was to be expected no matter what.

The Center screwed up the snap on both of the fumbles and was abruptly replaced after the second series. Sacked twice on a collapsing pocket mostly. Both times the Rookie tackle was beaten on the snap. During one of the sacks Fields had a chance to get rid of the ball and on the other one he didn't.

He was a part of 2 fumbles, even his on Head Coach was disappointed with that part of his quarterback.

And the center took responsibility for it. Even someone as biased as you have to admit that a fumble on a center/QB exchange isn't exactly the same as a fumble where he was the only person in possession of the ball.

And Tomlin didn't exactly do him any favors by failing to challenge the completion on the sideline either. And it was a first down at that.

Anytime the quarterback is involved in a fumble, he is partially responsible, period. My on son played quarterback and your number 1 objective is to protect the football.

Pitts maybe calling up your son at some point.

As stated previously the sideline pass to Jefferson was a completed pass that the referee got wrong and Tomlin failed to challenge. He looked good out there. Few things that THEY need to clean up but definitely some "there" "there".
And if the "Great" Jordan Love would have played exactly the same as Justin Fields did in those first 3 drives we'd never hear the end of it from you.

Well then if he didn’t challenge it and it was ruled incomplete on the field, the damn thing is incomplete. And no I will not be happy if Jordan Love is involved in 2 fumbles that stall out the offense and gets sacked twice in 3 possessions, that doesn’t seem good at all to me.

You're a Packers fan that hates all thing Bears though. Former and current players. It matters not to you. With this being the case do you really think you're the best dude to give an honest assessment here?

It is an honest opinion, I don’t give a shit either way. Justin Fields was a great benefit to the Packers in extending the stretch since 2018. I actually owe him a debt of gratitude.

Is there any Bears player that you have ever heaped praise upon though? Just Asking A Question

Loved Urlacher, Hampton, Singleterry, mad respect for Hester and his return skills. Willie Gault was always intriguing when I was younger because he and Neamiah were the first track speedsters to try and play in the NFL.

And to be honest, the Bears as an organization haven’t really had a lot to root for.

All that crying aside, Fields fumbling and getting sacked and putting zero points on the board is very much what we've seen for years here in Chicago. That's why the Bears wanted to move on and find someone new. That's why no other teams were interested in him, and that is why we got a low return for him.

So if Caleb goes 5/6 with no points, two sacks and two fumbles, he had a good game today?

 Herm Edwards saying pretty much what everyone here is saying "...there's also some signs that show disappointment in the fact that they were really sloppy on offense. Ball exchange, quarterback/center, holding the ball too long in the pocket at times. We saw this when he was in Chicago. He had some early completions, but at the end of the day he kind of fell back into how he was playing in Chicago ."

There's a couple interesting between the lines things to get out of that if you want to pay attention.

Two "recovered" fumbles let the record show. One resulted in a 4 yard gain by the way.

If Caleb plays the exact same game I'm not going to shit on the kid. Particularly when the sacks were a result if the tackle not being able to block potted plant.

End of the day the so called "CFMB" analysis is essentially just Confirmation Bias.

The Kid was right on the money with all of his throws and people are still letting him have it. If that ain't Confirmation bias then what is it?

Quote:
It’s hard to get excited over preseason Week 1 action and unwise to draw strong conclusions from the cameos players receive in August. But Fields largely delivered a solid performance for Pittsburgh.

He completed 5 of 6 passes for 67 yards and posted a passer rating of 113.2 through three series. He scrambled once for 2 yards, sustained two sacks, and he and center Nate Herbig botched two snaps for fumbles (which Pittsburgh recovered).

The fumbles, which occurred on each of the first two possessions, hampered the Steelers’ effectiveness, but Fields and the offense did exhibit promise on the third drive — an eight-play, 43-yard march into Texans territory.

Games aren't won by completion percentage. They're won with points.

But Hall Of Fame Inductions are based on consecutive games played streaks apparently.  The CFMB Sports Educator thing is really an oxymoron at this point.

Watching the Bear first quarter is reminder of how bad Fields was. So glad that loser is gone.

You do realize that game wins are different things than getting into the hall of fame, right?
Just making sure. Keep on posting like a sausage if that's what makes you happy.

2023 Steelers Pre-season QB Stats

Pickett 13-15 199 yards 2 TD 0 INT 86% Comp QBR 158.3

Mitch 18-26 142 yards 1 TD 1 INT 69% Comp QBR 79.3

Once the games actually mattered, howd those pre-season stats work out for them ?

He played 3 POSSESSIONS IN THE PRESEASON WHERE WINS DON'T MATTER! At some point tap out. The more you "hunt" the dumber you look.

It’s difficult to comprehend that Chase Daniel can actually tweet while usually having both hands on Fields’ junk, never mind tweet anything that Fields is less than the next NFL MVP but here we are

Him saying that the film was not good is a step. He almost refused last year to ever be critical of him.

His analysis was pathetic last year. I wondered which QB he was watching.

He’s literally the biggest Fields cheerleader I’ve seen. Effusive praise of 7 on 7 drill throws as evidence that Fields is great . He’s ltg with “credibility”so yeah its shocking.
