CPS is pretty terrible. Southern IL schools aren't that great either. Parents are really the best teachers, all other teachers have to either add to or supplement what their kids parents do.

7 of the top 10 schools in the state are in CPS however. About 30 of the top 100. Which means that there is some evidence of "greatness".

And besides the leading indicator of a child's success or non success is income level /Educational attainment level of their parents.
That is not to absolve teachers but anyone who believes that they are the sole determinant or single most determining factor in the process is an *diot

No way in hell would you ever be able to attract the "best and the brightest" in education with an annual salary that pays $43,000 per year. In a district mind you, whose median income is $99,000 per year. The parents in that district are paying for all types of "supports" to ensure that their child performs well on standardized testing.
