Who should we draft at #1?

A lefty that they will sell for pennies on the dollar six years from now

A lefty that they will sell for pennies on the dollar six years from now, followed by the team showing the lefty where the plate is, and the lefty saying, "Oh" and then be good.

I'm not kidding. Cease also has 20 less BB's this year.

Salary floors. The NFL has it down.

Besides reaching the most modern day loss record when the dust settles it'll be interesting all the other team and individual low achievement feats of futility that are set.

Chris Flexen set a major league record for the longest winless stretch by a pitcher, failing to collect a win for the 20th straight start. He was tied with Brewers lefty Chris Capuano, whose 19-game streak covered a span from 2007-10, including a period on the injured list due to Tommy John surgery.

Nicky Lopez for the 2nd time in his career has a chance for least RBI in a season (400 min. ab) near bottom all-time finish.

2 lowest all-time White Sox manager W% #1 Grady, #2 Pedro.

I like a floor and a cap. I realize the union would never allow the cap - even if the existing tax is a de facto cap - but that’s where things might even out a bit.

Without an upper limit, floors create a bit of a supply/demand issue resulting in a lot of bad contracts. I think it should be a reasonably wide range though, otherwise you fall into the NBA trap where teams can suck forever while getting locked into bad deals.

Even with a cap, I think a floor could be better for rank and file guys than the current system. However, good luck convincing the union of that premise and good luck convincing the cheap owners to commit to any mandatory spending.

Yep, the league will be full of poor players making $15+ mil/year. Every team will have a couple Benintendi's...

Not surprising. There's nobody in this lineup who is hitting them with any regularity. Robert/Vaughn/Bententendi are the boppers....

Isn't Vargas supposed to be able to hit for power? He is looking like a bust as well.

JS seems surprised that the temperature goes down with the sun. 75 at game time falling to the high 60’s soon after.

Stone just said “second collision of the game”. Guy comes up to lead off the third down 7-0 and bunts. Wow

Sizemore was absolutely right to freak out and get tossed, and Benintendi was also absolutely right to freak out and get tossed immediately afterwards.... but.... I think Hunter said something to the effect of win something then bitch

They are 50 games back in the division

Special Ed Frank will say, "Well, the Sox will play the same amount of playoff games as the Cubs this year."

The White Sox are up 4-1 in the 4th inning and yet the Orioles are only +135.

6-1 bottom 5 +350. Any other middling team it would be over +500.

Steve Stone just said Robert was hustling down the line on the DP, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Lazy fuck.

Nice to see his ass pulled and sitting on the bench. I'm not buying an injury after that.

Agreed…the announcers speculated it was a hamstring but it looked like a benching after the pathetic run to first. And it looked like Sizemore was giving him some choice words with Robert staring blankly like he was high. A couple innings later and Schriffen is saying “still no word.”

Edit: now they’re saying “right hamstring tightness.” Lol, sure.
