Flus said they are both suffering minor injuries so he said fuk it, lets play two bad guards with injuries and not just one and get the worst from both of them!

The initial game plan was kind of foolish and was not adjusted, even a pop warner level OC would see he was outmatched on the interior and start calling plays to get the big guys running laterally, the problem was that all three interior guys totally lost their technique early and all were getting beat to their inside shoulders and could not step play side.

They did get a decent run or two to the left late in the game and got good blocks on the edge from Kmet, but that was later in the game, there were a few times they had good calls earlier, but guys totally whiffed on backside blocks and the blew up the play.

No excuses. He's a 'generational' #1. If CJ Stroud can be good in year 1, Caleb has to be too. If dudes are blocking his shit in week 10, there's a problem. If he's inaccurate in week 10, there's a problem.

Without looking, pick quarterbacks you hope he is as good as when his career is over. The odds are they either:
1) Didn't play much or at all as rookies.
2) Weren't good in year 1.

QB play by rookies seems to be completely random and not indicative of any future. Year 2 is where things stabilize assuming they actually play.

Of course, if Williams is as bad all year as he was in game 1 that is concerning but he'll have that breakout game in the first 5 or 6 games that shows the potential and all will be good.

I'm all on the No Excuses train, even if Coleman Shelton continues to soil himself. There were throws to be made, and he missed nearly all of them. He looked uncomfortable, and his clock was rushed by a second or so. That had to improve on Sunday.

If only Williams had turnover issues, and he hasn't (so far, only 1 freaking game), then, yeah, those other eventual HoF comps track.

Williams issues are embedded in being a 6 foot and a ribeye tall and trying to play behind the 5 tallest guys on the roster.

My biggest complaint with Williams on Sunday was definitely that he didn't throw 3 interceptions.

If he had only thrown 3 int and was a couple inches taller he would be great!

Chicago really is QB stupid.

I'd rather a fixable problem like throwing picks b/c adjusting to the NFL game vs an immutable issue like undersized for the position. Obviously you'd rather not have either. Williams graded out like a QB who threw 3 picks...without throwing any interceptions.

What you are worried about is akin to a QB who is slow or has a weaker arm. Most QB’s have some sort of limitation. But there are several strong short QB’s like Brees and Wilson. There are plenty of slow QB’s like Marino or Manning.

He just has to find throwing lanes. He is otherwise ideal.

yeah, Brees is the model for a QB Williams size. D-backs said Brees ability to stay in pocket and throw made it difficult to track the QB during plays. All of a sudden the ball's in the air out of nowhere.

That's why the Saints always invested all the money in the interior of the online.

If I were so inclined (I'm not) I'd show you what some of the true "Generational" type QBs did in year 1 of their career. The Bears gave him.a ready made squad and cleared the decks for him by trading a starting QB in order for him not to compete. If he doesn't have it then there is no excuses for him.

Poles still has the chance and money to fix this obvious weakness. He needs to quit fucking around and sign a decent center and guard. I am no Williams fan and said what I think about him but to me leaving the offensive line the way it is should not be forgiven. If Tennessee had a good quarterback, the Bears would not have won that game. FIX IT!

Everybody with half a brain knew that his first season would be fairly rough. And within that anyone with half a brain knew the first game was going to be rough. Judging a guy based on his debut is dumb.

That said, he was pretty bad yesterday. Nothing unfixable though. He's not like the last guy who couldn't read a defense to save his life. By this time next season the game will have slowed down for him and we'll get a better look at who he is

I go back to the lack of pre-season training. Ten damn pass completions out of twenty attempts was not smart for a rookie quarterback whatsoever. Flush being so certain of Williams "greatness" I believe was a very misguided assumption. Let's face it, the Bear's were a lucky winner yesterday.

A most "Masculine" man that Writer Bob has revealed himself to be over the years. And paradoxically speaking rather weak minded. If he is good then he's good. Doesn't matter if you put a skirt and starting cheering for him or I root against him "Barbara".

Show of hands for those who went on the record proclaiming that he would suck ass yesterday? As the world's greatest "peeper" just happened to Monday Morning QB (literally) his way into the conversation with? Just Asking Questions

I thought it would be close and pointed out the strength of the Titans defense. Do we need to go on record for what games a rookie quarterback may struggle in, particularly one playing in their first game?

How many touchdowns did fourth year Fields have yesterday against the juggernaut Falcons defense? Will he start Sunday?

That pick 6 to take the lead in a week 1 was shades of Leslie Frazier doing he same thing in another week 1

Some were really good as rookies. Most were not. They were better than what Williams was on Sunday but Sunday was just the first game.

Again, just pick a sampling of 5 quarterbacks you hope Williams is as good as. Then look at what they did their rookie years.

I'm concerned he's short. That's really always has been my main concern. I don't really care about his purse, his nails, his possible false branding of himself as Kobe Brady, and his crying on mama's bosom. That's just fun stuff.

Justin Fields strongly contributed to his team's win yesterday while Generational QB didn't.

And I don't recall one person going on the record proclaiming they expected that to happen.

And as stated previously there was an actual thread started which asked what his numbers would look like and not one person "predicted" that. Now "peeping Darko" proclaims that "everyone" knew it before the Season started. Sure they did.

Stroud had shit numbers in his first game, even with padding them at the end of a blowout. I'm sure someone played a great game, but the numbers say the great ones sucked.
