OK. There is a Baseline of sorts. "Great" means All Pro Level however

You come up with your own expectations if you don't like mine. Or just ride the fence. Up to you.

Proclaiming that he will be a "bust" is riding the fence. Ok sure it is. Once again "great analysis" provided by Brick. Great isn't simply Pro Bowl.level either by the way.

Damn what a shame, Justin Fields 2.0.

Justin will be better than Jordan Love this season. Book it!

He wasn’t better last week.

Must have missed where the great Jordan Love was considered the better QB while both were in college.

Jordan Love was always "better" even as he rode the bench for the first 2 years of his career. Ok sure dude.
And it's tough to trust the judgment of the dude who drones on and on about the mediocrity that is the Green Bay Packers as if they are the "How About Them Cowboys" of the Jimmy Johnson era. They were a .500 squad that barely made the playoffs last season but hearing your constant gibberish one would think that they were Super Bowl contenders. Good grief!

I don't think you've officially said that Williams will be a "bust". I may have missed it.

So, worse than Fields was in Chicago? That seems to be a good baseline.

So, give me the over/under on these:
39 starts
11 wins
40 passing touchdowns
54 total touchdowns
4/3 td/int ratio
166 yards a game

I am incredibly confident that Williams will surpass every single one of those stats.

OK so you have him to be An All Pro by the end of Year 2. I disagree and believe that he will not be. I have him to be a bust actually and nowhere near what Prognosticators think he will be.

If you think that Caleb Williams will be "great" then shouldn't your comparisons be with people that actually put up "great" numbers? You think he will be "great" yet all of your comps are with Justin Fields and the numbers that he put up playing for crappy coaches and alongside crappy receivers. Who are you trying to fool with this little exercise? Yourself? Just Asking Questions

I'm try to get you to actually say something worthwhile about Williams. You can call him a bust all you want. Put it in a way it can be tracked. You want to talk tough about me thinking that Williams will be "great" but you run and hide when you have to put actual thought behind you thinking Williams will be a bust.

You know that Williams, at worst, is going to blow Fields time in Chicago out of the water. I don't say that for any other reason because the bar Fields set was quite low.

I don't "know" anything and neither do you apparently. He's playing with a much better supporting cast thus his numbers should be better. Last week they were not.
However the point still stands. If you REALLY think that Caleb will be "great" then your comparison should be to other "great" quarterbacks and not Justin Fields right now. The fact that it is not validates that you don't actually believe that the kid will be "great". Merely that you believe that he will be better than Justin Fields during his time with the Bears.

So go ahead and predict if he surpasses Fields in the stats I listed above. This isn't hard.

No, the point is that you don't think that Williams will be better than Fields. You are just hiding from that.

We'll start with Fields to establish a baseline.

OK I got $200 which says that Fields will put up better numbers than Caleb THIS YEAR. What say you?

lol.. couldn’t find any actual analysis to back up your thoughts, eh?

Look, I’ll stick to guys like JT O’Sullivan and Kurt Warner (for example) for analysis on these topics -you’re free to do whatever the hell this is

You're the same dude that claimed his height or tipped passes weren't a problem either. Even as a writer present at training camp told you that tipped passes were a problem. So yeah I will continue to "trust" what I see as opposed to that which you happen to see.

You could just answer the question as asked. Then we can discuss expectations this year for Fields.

It's already shown itself to be a problem when you said that it wasn't. Suggesting that it's wishful thinking on my part with this being the case is simply "disingenuous"

Disingenuous, no. I’m not worried about it ..there’s a difference. It’s one game and you’re taking a victory lap. My comment on this being a long season was deliberate -and it’s related to tipped passes being one of many fixable problems.

Again, it’s a long season and there’s going to be ups and downs. You won’t see me crowning him either if he comes out and throws for 300 yards, 3 TD’s, and has a 100 plus QB rating. He’s a rookie with a lot of talent playing behind a bad O-line.. there’s gonna be some rough days.

I repeatedly heard that line play didn't matter for someone as "great" as him because he had "pocket awareness". I also was repeatedly told that the line wasn't that bad either. Justin just simply held the ball too long. Even though my eyes repeatedly saw a line collapsing from the snap of the ball.

When the kid threw off script against 4th stringers I was told that he was already great and the next Mahomes. When the prediction thread was started there were predictions that would placed him in All Pro status. Now he's just a rookie dealing with the growing pains that all rookies deal with. Sure

Sure

Williams avoided sacks and threw the ball much faster than Fields did. Williams problem was he made a lot of really bad throws.

Also, I'll point out once again that Williams, in his single game, saw some of the worst Time To Throw numbers while Fields last year had the most Time To Throw of any qb in the league of players who had more than 1 attempt besides Sam Darnold who played in 10 games but threw 46 total times.

So, if people say the OL wasn't a problem for Fields it's probably because he had the most time to throw in the league. If people were saying it was a problem for Williams it's probably because he had the second lowest time to throw in the league.

Not an All Pro. Pro Bowl sure. Top 10 sure. Hopefully even better than top 10.

So I will point out once again that Dr. Style did not answer this very simple over/under list.
