Andy Dalton shouldn't be near your rookie quarterback. He still wants to start. With a new coach and front office, Young was doomed.

And Young is benched, at least until Dalton gets killed by some blitzing LB.

I am not sure trading your #1 WR for a QB was good idea. But what do I know?

Dalton did a great job of resurrecting the Bears' offense after Fields got benched. I'm certain this will work out well for the Panthers.

Weird move for the rookie coach.

Reads to me like it was not coach's decision.

Quote:
Canales also wouldn’t say exactly what led to the decision to bench Young.

“I don’t want to get into the specifics as those are private conversations,” Canales said.

Even weirder. What’s the upside?

Tepper seems like a gigantic piece of shit (independent of this move, which I just find bizarre).

The upside is Young may be a wreck. Just like yanking Kopech after 2 walks and a HBP.

Then he better positions you for the #1 pick, just like Kopech.

I thought Tepper was the one who demanded Young played last year.

Everyone knew Tepper was insisting on Young over Stroud. The front office acquiesced because to publicly shit on the boss and draft Stroud anyway was a good way to get fired. Of course, they all got fired at the end of last season anyway, and Tepper is trying to change the story to "it was the last front office's decision to draft Young, not mine."

In the words of Terry Boers, David Tepper WYC.

Panthers offer their 2025 1st round pick and their 2026 1st round pick and Bryce Young for Caleb Williams.

Figure one of Manning or Moss enters the draft each year + Ethan Hampton this year.

Moss has another year of eligibility but seeing as he'll be twenty-freaking-three at the draft in April, he likely leaves college this year.

Arch should be in following 2026 draft.

So you're telling me a team can't put a 5'6" kid at quarterback and not be terrible. Interesting.

Both of our partner did their job

Panthers lose

Fields starts and plays every snap. Five more starts to secure a 4th rounder

Pretty sure it's snaps, because starts is too easy to circumvent. But if Fields plays every snap for the next five games, they are probably there.

Fields starts

good week for us

I don't like the rumors about Wilson starting in Pitt. We need Fields to play four more full games

Pretty sure he starts. And it's Vegas, so two starts looks very likely. After that, coin toss. He's doing a credible job as a veteran backup. 22nd rated QB is good for a backup.

Bryce Young looked like a kid that dressed up as a football player for Halloween standing next to real grown ass men on the sidelines.

I wonder if Bryce Young can even bench 200 pounds or curl a 50 pound dumb bell. It’s shocking how tiny dude is. You’d think they’d have him on some bulking up program or whatever.

While the CFMB gurus were taking their victory laps earlier in the week, did any of them bother to point out the fact that a team that already sucks was missing a number of key pieces to it's starting lineup on defense? Just Asking A Question

https://www.panthers.com/news/rapid-rea ... l-to-bears

Quote:
CHICAGO — With injuries stacking up on defense, the Panthers have a shrinking margin of error.

It continued to get smaller on Sunday.

With outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney leaving in the second quarter with a shoulder injury as one of many injuries, the Panthers fell 36-10 to the Bears at Soldier Field.

The Panthers were already without captains Derrick Brown and Shaq Thompson (on injured reserve), and inside linebacker Josey Jewell was inactive because of hamstring and groin injuries.
