I predicted that he wasn't good at throwing. You claimed that he was very good at it. And there is more than just "2 games". He was also bad it whenever he played against players that weren't slated to be working at Food For Less when they're playing days were over in college as well.

I won't do it on principle given you won't answer my simple question. I guess the question is why are you so afraid to compare what Fields did in Chicago?

No, the reason Fields stats weren't better here is because he can't throw. His stats are actually worse in Pittsburgh through 2 games outside of interceptions. He's hiding it by being even more conservative than he was here so he has a high completion percentage with hilariously awful overall passing stats. It's only 2 games so things can change. If Fields plays like that all season the Steelers are going to let him walk after the season.

Through 2 games you are 100% right on Williams. Enjoy your victory now but it's telling you won't talk about Williams career in Chicago and how he will perform even though you seem to be ready to declare Williams a bust who is going to fall out of the NFL quickly.

He can't throw which is why he is throwing for 136.5 yards per game this year with the Steelers. The Steelers are hiding him by not letting him throw.

You can say I'm not backing things up.

You refuse to predict if Williams will have better or worse stats in Chicago than Fields did. That should be an easy one yet somehow you won't answer it.

He's already had 3 deep passes called back due to penalty. He also has completed 70% of his passes. What's Caleb's score om either of these? Just Asking A Question

Hey Brick if Fields cannot throw, then why does he have one of the best completion %of all QBs on passes over 20 yards since he entered the NFL? Just Asking A Question

That's life. One was also an offensive pass interference. The other was a holding call by the line. I don't know what the third one was.

What person would look at this stat and conclude that someone "Can't Throw"?

Quote:
When it comes to throwing the deep ball, Justin Fields was one of the best in 2023. Fields owned a 96.7 PFF passing grade on throws greater than 20 yards. According to PFF, 14.1 percent of Fields’ pass attempts in 2023 were deep ball attempts. Fields completed 44.2 percent of his deep ball attempts last season

Me thinks that I have my guy

Can you provide proof he can in fact propel an object forward through the air with his arm?

I'll add some nuance and then quickly regret it.

Fields was sold as being accurate out of college. So it's not a huge surprise if he's accurate deep as if he can throw deep, it's because the O line gave him time to throw, something the Bears did not do. However, he is accurately classed as having a) a slow release and b) an inability to read defenses. Both I think are legit things but somewhat coverable with a good O Line.

Caleb is better at both those weaknesses but I think he came in overconfident. Plus if you look at the film, Rome isn't yet where he needs to be in terms of route running and overall expectations of what Williams will do to extend plays. I think Williams would be better than Fields behind a similar offensive line.

Rome also isn’t the #1 Wr, so he’s not typically going to be the 1st or 2nd read unlike guys like Malik Nabors and Harrison Jr who are going to get more targets. That’s one of the nice things about the Bears for a guy like Odunze.. he’s running out there with Moore, Kmet, and when healthy Allen. He’s also nursing that MCL sprain too

Healthy Allen had 11 targets and only pulled in 4 of em for 29 yards.

Bears got sold a bill of damaged goods. No wonder Caleb pretended not to see Keenan at his pro day.

Williams’ androgyny has been well known since college. His teammates loved him in spite of or because of it. If he plays well, it’ll be fine.

Somebody compared him to Prince and that seems about right. Now he just has to be successful enough to overlook the weirdness.

He had basically no affiliation with his teammates at Oklahoma or USC. Not even contempt, as far as he was concerned they might as well have been on a different team.

That’s not the end of the world in the pros, especially with how players come and go so fast.

This is a weird thing to just make up.

Caleb went out of his way to get NIL deals for his teammates, most notably his OL, and by all accounts his USC teammates loved him.

Caleb Williams is 0-11 on passes 15 yards or more thus far. That's atrocious

It's just one of many stories that would refute the idea that he was a bad teammate and distanced himself from his teammates. There was never any reporting to that effect, it was the opposite actually.

There's plenty to criticize about his on field play. It's weird to just make up stories about him being a loner who thinks hes above his teammates.

I’m not even going to argue this with you. Just let the season play out and see how Williams’ Bears teammates express their endearment to him. You got a little preview of that with DJ Moore’s little outburst and saying whatever he is he said to Bagent.

If Moore is actually clamoring for Bagent after 8 quarters of Williams, the takeaway is probably that Moore is an idiot.

Moore halfassed that route he showed up Williams on.

someone else tuning into JT O Sullivan?

He did. And he's not a #1. He's Deebo. Which is good to great but not a true #1 WR.

I think Moore’s frustration boiling over is a case of ‘not this shit again’.. after dealing with poor play for years in Carolina, then more bad offense with the Bears last year.. I’d be willing to bet he reacts just the same if it was Fields throwing that pass. I doubt it was personal against Williams, I think people are making too much out of that.

I look at it this way -his contract negotiations went smoothly, seemed to happily sign a contract that didn’t reset the market like most players (especially wide outs do). To me there’s no way he does that if he has legit personal issues with the QB.

Bill Belichick's breakdowns have been better than Sullivan's or Chase Daniel honestly. Sullivan is in the tank for Caleb Williams from what I've seen. Hardly objective.

It's this type of stupid shit from him that needs to stop. Now he's bloviating about how he'll never throw 2 interceptions ever again. Yes he will. Probably will throw 3 at some point.
https://www.bleachernation.com/bears/20 ... lets-0921/
The arrogance without any accomplishments is what turned me off initially. It wasn't all about Justin Fields. From the "I'm not a businessman, I'm a business man" garbage, to I want a piece of the team without ever playing an NFL down yet. From the I'm going to be better than Mahomes nonsense, to telling the punter that he won't be punting all that much because they now have the greatness that is Caleb Williams. From Instructing Vet guys to clean up behind themselves to now telling the world that he won't throw 2 ints again, just shut the fuck up and play. And let your play show the world how great you are. After awhile it just seems like one long con being perpetrated by this kid. Without ever having proved a damn thing.

Chicago Bear fans are too savvy to keep falling for those lines of bullshit.
