He didn't say he wouldn't ever throw 2 picks again. He said he wouldn't make those specific mistakes again that led to the interceptions. That's the right attitude.

Throws that work in college don't always work in the pros. He's learning. It's not arrogance like you think it is.

I guess it would have been better to say he's going to make those same mistakes many times.

When you propel an object forward, throw it to where the catcher of the object is going to be, not where he is at the time of the propelling of the object.

Let's hope he learns to throw soon. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky did for a year.

It's clear that the "mistakes" was the interception itself and not the way he "threw the interception" Brick.
Quote:
Obviously I had the two stupid mistakes that won't happen again," Williams said. "But I think rhythm, pass game, getting the ball to receivers, I think I got better with getting the ball out of my hands, trying to stay in the right range of timing, the offensive linemen, myself, and the routes, I think those are the few spots I've gotten better at.

Saying that you will be better than Patrick Mahomes without ever playing an NFL down is definitely the sign of a rather "humble" guy. Telling the punter that you won't be "punting all that much" is definitely a sign of "humility" as well. Man with geniuses like you who needs buffoons? Just Asking A Question

And if you throw it as you've thrown it your entire life and it works, then it clearly isn't a "mistake" that you will "never do again". It's only when you throw passes that results in ints is it an example of a "mistake" that you will never make again. Ok

Is it really arrogance or a show? The ReWriter of History knows. We don't, but we're sure as hell are going to find out eventually.

Right. I care far less about what a player says than what he actually does. I like what I've heard about Wiliams' work ethic, willingness to accept "hard" coaching, and overall resilience, but none of that means he's going to be any good.

However if you are going to talk the talk then you walk the walk. And the performance is nowhere near the amount of uapping that this kid has done. And even "the hard work" part might be a smokescreen. I have never met or seen a rookie player in any sport whom they have claimed "didn't work hard" while they were a Rookie. Laziness only ever seems to come out years later once they have flopped.
That's why I couldn't care less to watch Hard Knocks as most as that stuff is scripted and/or edited anyway.

And no matter what the Bears say now about Caleb being a Rookie QB who they knew would undergo the sort of "growing pains" that all Rookies undergo, it's clear that this wasn't the case before they drafted him. They expected this kid to hit the ground running. Doesn't mean be elite, but just not suck. If not then they would never have cleared the deck for him by giving Fields away for a 6th Rd pick. They have a coach (and possibly a GM too) fighting for his job and the way to save it is by trading for a QB that you expect to be ready in year 2? Makes little sense.

As I said, I care less about talk than I do about action. The great thing about sports is that you either prove yourself on the field or you get traded to Pittsburgh for scraps. And everyone gets to watch.

There is something to being humble as an athlete though. And typically when guys do nothing but talk about themselves and how great they are, it does effect the way that they play.. Whether it be them being a "me" and not a "team" guy, or their willingness to work and get better. Typically there is a correlation.

Nah I'm sure you made the argument at some point. You definitely were in the Fields isn't shit and had no value camp. Now he wasn't "given away". Ok

Anytime an NFL team has to dumb down their playbook and Artie Smith admitted that in the first game, you aren’t that good. It wasn’t much better in the 2nd game. They have him being a Game Manager, I prefer my quarterbacks not be game manager but game changers.

Nah guy. They've taken at least 3 shots 40 yards or more for completions that were called back due to penalty. That ain't on him. And Smith is a conservative play Caller by nature. That ain't on Fields either.

But you have him as a turnover machine that does nothing but take sacks and that hasn't really "materialized" just yet. And his current line sucks almost as much as the Bears.

He has thrown for 136.5 yards per game, period. You always want to point blame for him, from fumbles to penalties on other players. It is amazing, he ain’t going to blow you dude!!!!

He's also 2-0 currently. And 6-2 in his late 8 games. Something you'd be all over if his current record were 0-2 and 2-6 over his late 8 games.

Just checking on this. Has Mr. Pocket Presence Hawger chimed in at any point this week in order to blame Caleb's 7 sacks on a lack of "Pocket Presence"? Just Asking A Question

Ironically enough, when people told CFMB'S "football experts" that Justin Fields sacks were mostly due to playing behind a shitty line, they told any and everyone that it was due to abstract concepts like "pocket awareness". Now that ol Caleb is getting his ears pinned back due to playing behind the very same shitty line, its now due to his having to play behind a shitty line.
