He has an offense that can run and pass block well, yet he still failed to score a touchdown against the Giants. Even without pressure, he's still pretty much a one read guy who's looking to run. His desire to prove his toughness is going to get him killed. That said, his last drive against the Bengals was impressive. You could see him gaining confidence after his first explosive pass to Mclaurin and he should have even more after that drive.

No one is talking about this! This is Brady-esque.

What did I get wrong? Did the Redskins not kick 7 FGs against the Giants and hoist the kicker on their shoulders after the game? Have the Redskins running backs not run the ball well? Did Daniels have a lot of time to pass? Did Daniels not get blitzed for nearly the entire game? Did he not make multiple clutch plays on the last drive? Did Caleb not pass relatively well when the pocket was clean?

That last throw alone was off the charts, mother fucker was getting killed and threw a damn dime. Do I need to discuss his 2 incompletions. I told you about him.

You did. The last throw was special. Outside of protecting the ball by throwing a lot of 5 yard passes, I didn't think he did anything special in the NFL until that last drive against the Bengals. He made a lot of clutch plays.

Still inaccurate downfield but looked like he belonged on an NFL field. I have to piss on the 157 yds of passing parade a little bit because the Rams were #32 in the league.

With each passing week it's becoming more evident that the "Generational talent" stuff was a mirage. It's not so much the lack of production or efficiency as much as what the eye test tells you about his talent. He has an average to above average arm, isn't particularly fast, and is below average for the position when it comes to size. And on top of that he is woefully inaccurate as a passer.
There are some things (like being able to read an NFL defense) that he will improve upon with experience, but the things that I referenced are not with the exception of possibly his accuracy. Everything else are things he won't be able to correct simply by playing more NFL games

Ok. You've got a a lot of information.

Will Williams put up stats in Chicago better than Fields put in Chicago? You come here every day acting like you've nailed the Williams prediction but you won't actually say anything of value.

The Stats argument is rather stupid because 1. He will throw far more than Justin Fields did as a rookie and 2.
He has far better "weapons" to throw too than Justin Fields did as a Rookie.

It's dumb to keep pushing this but yet here you go.

The bigger question is when are "we" going to see Caleb be the "better" player. You stupidly claimed "fairly quickly" then proclaimed then backpedaled (conveniently once actual games were being played) by claiming that it would occur by year 2. Which isn't "fairly quickly" by any stretch of the imagination.

I agree, Caleb is unlikely to get taller or run a 4.3 40. The best quarterbacks don't generally have every physical gift.

I'm looking forward to seeing others break down the all 22. The blitz numbers are encouraging, but it felt like Caleb was gun shy yesterday. I don't want the Bears to coach out what can make him special to chase wins.

If he can't throw past 5 yards with any degree of accuracy (which to date he can't for the most part), then that should be concerning. There has never been a "Generational Talent" invented who couldn't do that.

Of course he will throw far more than Justin Fields. Fields was terrible at throwing in Chicago. It's not Williams fault that he came into the NFL able to throw.

I don't think I backpedaled. I think we'll see the signs by the end of this year and it will be obvious by year 2. As I've explained a bunch of times, rookie years for quarterbacks are often up and down. Just look at yesterday. They switched to a game manager mode for Williams, which he executed perfectly for a rookie, because the running game was working so well. It was great to see Williams stay as patient as he did.

The touch deep passes aren't concerning at the moment, but they're on my radar. Let's see where they are after the bye week. He's still throwing intermediate darts every game. The throw to Kmet was special.

It's obvious you backpedaled Brick. Or simply kicked the can down the road.
And I know you think you are somehow being a genius by constantly harping on the rookie careers of both but you really aren't. Justin Fields only started 10 games as a Rookie. Barring Injuries Caleb will easily surpass that. If you pro rate Caleb's numbers over 10 games this year they are "eerily similar" to Justin's. Despite having far better people to throw too than Fields ever had and being allowed to throw far more often.

He's air mailing just about each and every deep pass currently

I didn't backpedal. I used the language "fairly quickly" specifically because rookie qbs often struggle even as they also at times show they belong.

No, I'm talking about the entire career in Chicago of Fields.

It's not that complex. You can either answer it or not but don't act like I'm playing some sort of trick on you for pointing out that you think that Williams "will be a bust" but you also think the Bears should have kept Fields even though everyone with a brain knows that barring injury Williams is going to outperform Fields as a Bear because Fields was mostly bad as a Bear besides the year he was one of the best running backs in the league.

Now you are once again moving the goalposts after looking stupid for harping on the same inane point about "rookie stats" for weeks.
And the "opinions" of everyone means nothing quite obviously since "everyone" also believed the kid to be a Generational talent too.
Do you play golf too? Just Asking A Question

This is a lie. I have always said "Fields stats as a Bear" and not "Fields as a rookie".

There's 3 rookies starting. After 4 games, Caleb is 3rd in QBR. It means next to nothing right now, but the Washington game will be interesting and Week 10 and thereafter when the schedule turns rough, will be even more interesting.

Right now the concerning thing is the coaching. Bo Nix has a quarterback whisperer. Kliff Kingsbury got the game ball yesterday after racking up 42 points, and Caleb has something called Shane Waldron.

You also claimed that you meant Year 2 when you stated that Williams would be better than Fields "fairly quickly". At this point nothing you state is believable.

I want to see Daniels in a couple of weeks against the Ravens. A lot of what I've seen from Kingsbury looks Nagyesque. Things that will make the stats sheets look great, but don't really tell the true story about the quarterbacks development. Someone shared a chart around here that kinda highlighted that.

But the Football Gurus to a person, laughed at the dude (Keyshawn Johnson) who proclaimed that coaching and supporting cast matters. Now all they do is constantly bitch about the supporting cast and coaches of Caleb Williams

Nah that part is in YOUR head. They repeatedly castigated the guy for stating that coaching and supporting cast matters and Fields had neither when was here. Now all they do is bash coaches and the supporting cast. Go figure. Writer Bon was one of the ringleader and so was AWOL Vegan

last year was the no excuses year for Fields. He had a #1 WR, top ten TE, a trio of good RB and an average OL.

Everyone complains about the ownership, coaches, O-line and the player himself when it comes to QB play in Chicago. While some of that may be true, the biggest detractor and obstacle for a QB in this town is the incredibly dense expectations of this team's fans.

But the Football Gurus to a person, laughed at the dude (Keyshawn Johnson) who proclaimed that coaching and supporting cast matters. Now all they do is constantly bitch about the supporting cast and coaches of Caleb Williams

I think they did that in the board in your head...or the secret facebook group. I can't keep the two straight.

And yet they still felt compelled to drastically upgrade the talent pool because they didn't believe it to be all that good

Everyone complains about the ownership, coaches, O-line and the player himself when it comes to QB play in Chicago. While some of that may be true, the biggest detractor and obstacle for a QB in this town is the incredibly dense expectations of this team's fans.

Chicago fandom has always looked at their teams in a vacuum. The 3 year window Bulls are the latest example. They never had a chance. Who the fuck believes Williams is generational? Chicago, that's who. They think Michael Jordans fall off trees. WE...are the worst fans in the country.
