Would expect pretty even stats for both of them. Williams will start to separate from Fields hopefully midway through the season.

Although Williams has played only one regular season game, I would say right now that he is not more of a play-maker than Fields, but that can still change.

When Williams scrambles, he typically goes backward, losing mucho yards when he is sacked like in the Titans game. Fields typically went forward when he scrambled and got positive yardage. That's why he was able to get so much rushing yards. With Fields you always had the dual threat of run and pass, but now with Williams the threat is mostly one-dimensional.

Williams does throw a better ball than Fields, but I don't think Williams has that much more arm strength than Fields.

Fields went backwards too, you're forgetting. Watched his film back with JT O'Sullivan all year last year. Most indecisive regular starter last year in the entire league. People forget.

Will be interesting to see who they go with on the interior of the O line. Poles continues to go give his draft picks and FA signing starts even though guys like Velus Jones and Nate Davis have likely cost them games, he would be way smarter to just go with replacement level guys, especially at OG where Davis looks overmatched at times.

The Rams went with a rookie 6th round pick over Shelton, in fact you second tier free agents and mid to late round picks that the Bears could have acquired starting at center across the league. Center is obviously a position that Poles does not value and that misguided mindset has limited his offense for several years. You could have easily taken a quality starting center, but went with project guys like Velus Jones, Dominque Robinson, and Noah Sewell.

1. Getting hit in the facemask by a snap he signaled but wasn't ready for resulting in a huge loss of yardage.
