A few weeks in and a few things have become blatantly obvious.

Poles is either one of the worst offensive line talent evaluators in NFL history or he has too big an ego to move away from his handpicked guys. A journeyman has come in and significantly outplayed Nate Davis, a guy that Poles loves for some odd reason even though the rest of the world can see the guy is giving a half ass effort. You can say the same thing across the o line where he handed starting jobs to guys that have proven nothing. This lack of awareness will severely limit the team. The time he wasted fretting about releasing a journeyman DB would have been much better spent looking for interior offensive line help.

Eberflus decided to blitz on nearly every play which handed easy completions to the veteran QB he was facing, he also got gashed in the run game, and was unable to or unwilling to make adjustments.

Does Waldron do anything, you can see why the team had to get after him to "coach them harder", they look lost at times.

It seems the country club atmosphere you saw on Hard Knocks was actually accurate, they are getting roasted every week for the stupid slip and slide waste of time crap.

Didn't they win yesterday?

D is giving up 17 points per game

I had them 3-1 in a 9-8 season. Hell, I had them 6-3 in a 9 win season.

If you think that Bears blitzed on almost every play yesterday, then you were playing Madden and just got mixed up.

The Bears line is bad, and criticisms of its make up are on Poles.

Shane Waldron stuck with the run yesterday and the Bears won. Good for him...for once in 4 games.

We really have drifted into Bears bizarro world where fans are spinning batons and decorating their parade floats for a loss then pulling out the pitchforks and torches for a win.

Despite dismal quarterback play and the left side of the line getting thoroughly dominated the Bears offense moved the ball when it needed to. They won the game. It’s very similar to last year, the coaching staff finally stopped giving a shit about showcasing the mediocre quarterback and just did what they had to do to win.

so he has too big an ego to move away from his guys but also at the same time, in game 4 of the season, davis started this game on the bench. which is it?

i think he'll overcorrect and draft Oline with the first 3 picks this year.... or maybe we can safely assume the bears trade away one of the twos near trade deadline as is Poles tradition

watching warmups yesterday, that rookie from yale was getting worked by the bear DEs during half speed warmups. i can only hope he does not see the field this year.

The time to draft offensive linemen is before you need them. Its not the position you want to be desperate for, its how you wind up with second round talent (who underperforming even second round pick expectations) drafted at tenth overall.

Agree 100% that Poles is a problem. He picked this coach, can’t seem to fix the O-line, and spends capital on things other teams don’t want to try and make up for the fact he struggles to identify and develop his own talent.

I’ve been on this for a while now

It’s funny that the team he ‘duped’ into trading away massive capital for Young is almost no worse off a couple years later than the Bears now that Dalton is starting for them.

That’s telling.

Maybe but it’d be misplaced. Odunze has been ok -he’s even got a 100 yard effort under his belt.. he’s the #3 WR right now and probably even behind Kmet on certain reads and play calls. I think Williams and Odunze are both fine. It’s the coaching and front office I’m worried about. If lucking into a big trade is Ryan’s biggest accomplishment after 3 seasons we have a huge problem here.

Did you watch the game?

First quarter the Bears came out and blitzed constantly, they got carved up as the QB just threw to vacated areas.

Surprised you missed this?

The fact that Davis is still active is strange. Did you see the play where he turned his back to the d line, cannot imagine a guy that is paying attention doing that during a game.

Did you read what the Titans said about Davis, there is a reason they could not wait to move on from him.
