29th out of 31 QBs in QBR

21st in passing yardage despite being 5th most in passes attempted

5th worst in avg Yardage per pass attempt amongst all starters.

Bears offense is 3rd worst in terms of Avg Yardage per game in the entire league

And these numbers are just the start of it

Just what we need, another thread for silly caleb arguments.

Does this look like steady improvement? Wasn't that a stated goal? Just Asking Questions.

You're telling me he isn't putting up hall of fame numbers in his first 4 games? Fire them all! Fields would have 1,000 yards rushing already!

In true CFMB fashion, MANY are now predicting that they knew that he'd be one of the worst QBs in the league statistically all along.

If he just plays the rest of the season like he did the last two games he will have had a decent rookie year. Obviously you hope he improves more than that but:
50/85, 520 yards, 3 touchdowns, 2 interceptions in 2 games

for a whole season would likely be the best Bears QB season since the 90s.

I feel like he is improving, but the hesitation/double-clutching is a HUGE concern.

I have heard other qbs talk about how it took a while for the "game to slow down around them". I think it still seems really fast on the longer plays but he's doing almost everything right now on the quicker plays.

The tough part is that the game may not slow down for him until year 2 in all aspects.

I actually think the double hitching is on the receivers for being late on routes. We assume it's him because he's a rookie. He trusts Odunze more than he does Moore. That's a little concerning.

Is it January already? No one wished me happy birthday.

"Improvement" to what exactly? He had 0 touchdown passes going into week 3 despite throwing the most passes in the league.

If you look at this from a "holistic" approach the numbers strongly suggests that the kid sucks.

*no rookie qb had thrown a td pass going into week 3

No Rookie started the Season already considered by MANY to be one of top 10-15 QBs in the league either.

More CFMB "solidarity"

This was said about him while he was still at ISC

https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/09/27/nick- ... ar-jackson

Quote:
Appearing on The Colin Cowherd Podcast, Fox Sports’ Nick Wright said he believes Williams is already one of the five most valuable quarterbacks in the world… even ahead of superstars like Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson.

Quote:
“If every NFL player and college player was available, Mahomes goes No. 1, there’s some debate over who goes No. 2, and Caleb goes before everyone other than maybe three people,” Wright said. “This is not disrespectful. He goes in a heartbeat before Hurts, before Lamar, before Tua [Tagovailoa], before Dak [Prescott]. He just does. And I would take him over [Justin] Herbert.”

So "MANY" people saying Caleb is already a top-15 QB is really just hot take artist Nick Wright and a fantasy football draft ranking list? And whatever AI is writing for Zombie Sporting News.

Is there anything less predictable than this buffoon proceeding to argue an inarguable point after already being provided with an answer? Just Asking A Question

DVOA rank of various defenses Bears either played or about to play:

Titans 11th
Texans 6th
Colts 17th

Rams 31st (they were 31st headed into the Bears game...still 31st)

Carolina 23rd this week (31st last week)

Jaguars 32nd this week, 30th last week

Redskins 30th this week, dunno where they were last week, but it was Jags / Rams / Panthers holding down spots 30,31,32...

Zona 29th this week

QBR takes into account opponent's defense; that's why even though Williams posted improved stats against LAR, he's still holding down the bottom of the QBR ranks.

Almost like they are trying to get him reps throwing the ball and not turning him into a game manager like that pretender in PITT.

Let's take a look at other QBs that they have attempted to "get reps" for during their rookie season shall we?
