Panthers continue to be not entirely bad with Dalton, Bears still win comfortably, hysteria about Bryce Young being a bust increases.

It’d be more humane if they didn’t make Bryce Young take the trip.

If the Bears offensive line can't "get right" against this Carolina feeble front 4, then they should be summarily executed.

If good dolphin wants to make a thread I’ll delete this one. Don’t want to wait until Wednesday.

I think they lose. Not sure how, but Carolina is good up front and there’s a revenge atmosphere.

Cool, I could watch this game except that I will be at Keeneland.

Do they have TVs in Kentucky?

Alternatively, do mobile phones work in Kentucky?

They do, but they will probably be showing the Bengals.

the favored by 4 has me concerned. perhaps i'm underestimating the panther, but i view them as more than a point worse than the ram... i suppose the counter is this bears offense isn't good enough to beat teams by more than a td consistently

They aren’t that bad of a team when you look at them. I have no idea what the fuck happened last year, sounds like coaching & quarterback play just ran them off the rails, but they were good on both fronts and I was pretty unenthusiastic about the Bears trading back with them thinking they were fringey seventh seed type team.

Oof was I wrong. Not that it mattered for the beloved, they would’ve taken the worst quarterback and third best wide receiver in this draft even if they picked 1-2.

But maybe the Panthers this year will perform more like I thought they would last year.

The Bears Reddit/Discord has all the answers for my fellow displaced Bears fans.

Cheap (free), high quality jerseys--err, stream.

Brian Thomas, Jr. is the the third best WR right now.

Yeah and Brock Bowers is also better too. Point I’m making is the Bears would’ve squandered this windfall no matter what.

I was waiting for Dolphin, but it doesn't look like he's going to create a thread. This was a close game last year. That said, even with Dalton at quarterback, I think this defense should be able to control the Panthers offense. Carolina's defense hasn't been great, so hopefully the offense can continue to build on what it started at the end of the 2nd quarter.

Bears 30-13

I want to give others room to express themselves.

I am going on Sunday. They will win convincingly. 31-10

This should be 6-1/2. I know he's the Red Rifle and all, but like all old guys, they detest getting hit. Do the powers that be think he's going to have time back there?

If the Bears don't dominate the Panthers, then something is irretrievably wrong with the way Poles has rebuilt this team.

5 is usually the number that you need to fear when betting on a home team

I feared 10-1/2 SF and I shouldn't have.

The Panthers aren’t good up front so they will dial up the pressure early and often forcing the Bears to deal with the blitz or drown. Neither the Bears offensive line nor Williams have shown an ability to consistently handle the blitz. The Bears can run on the Panthers, but all it takes is one negative play or a big penalty to create down and distances that make passing mandatory. That’s where I can see some turnovers occurring and early stalled drives.

I think the Bears can mostly get over this disadvantage through their special teams, except obviously the turnovers. I can’t really guess how many (if any) turnovers there will be since so many big defensive plays are called back these days.

So it comes down to the Bears defense against this surging Panthers offense. It’ll be a telling match-up for both teams, they are equally matched in a lot of ways.

At the end of the day I just don’t think the Bears have it. They don’t feel like they are ready to win consecutive games yet. Everything is still so much of a struggle with them. The Panthers aren’t world beaters but they are ready to seize on a team like Chicago.

Bears 16
Panthers 25

I’d say high odds of seeing the Bears suffer a safety in this one.

the big numbers cover more frequently

5 is the lure.

Years ago, I took the Jaguars on the moneyline when they were +16.5 against the Broncos and won.
